cakes or casing for first time?

Which would be more suitable for a first-time grower: just put the cakes in the terrarium, or use the casing meathod? Cakes look like they might be easier, but casing looks like it works a lot better.

Cakes are a little easier because the extra step of making the casing layer isn't involved. Start with cakes, and then your second time give casing a try. Then see which method you prefer. For cakes, try the PF tek. It'll walk you the whole way through:

I'd have to go with puscle, try both.
Try invitro, try cakes, try casings.

Cakes are simplest, but casings give much higher yields. I agree, try both, but I expect that you'll never bother with anything but casings after you've had your first successful flush.
