How to harvest

just curious on harvesting. after u pick the mushrooms off a casing, do you add more casing material in the holes left by the picked mushroom, or do u just mist heavily with water/hydrogen peroxide?

Yes, add casing to cover the spots. Its called "patch casing" or "patching".

Add fresh casing material to fill in the divets left by harvesting, then give it a good mist and put it back into fruiting.

does the new casing material have to be made right before applying it, or can I use the leftover that I had from making the casing in the first place? the reason I ask is, last time I did it I used the leftover casing material, nuked it for 10 minutes, let it cool, applied the patching and sprayed it down. Then I had mold like 3 days later. should I just make a new batch of casing material everytime I Patch, or did I just get unlucky last time?

You may have just been unlucky last time. I mix up a bunch of casing material and keep it in a bucket until needed. When the need arises I place the amount needed in a glass bowl, microwave it for 5 minutes, stir it up and then microwave for 5 more minutes. Works fine for me.

I PC all my casing mix in jars then just pop open a new one as needed.
