Hydrogen Peroxide?

Ok, I have been trying to figure out how to use Hydrogen Peroxide to simplify my preperations for clean mushroom environment. My question is how exactly do i do this? How much am I suppost to add? Is there a different procedure than the PK-Tek? I really want to find out because it would definatly make it easier to grow. There would be no need for all the cleanliness procedures because the hydrogen peroxide kills the mold and bad contaminates but allows the mushrooms to grow efficiantly and I guess the mycentium converts the hydrogen to oxegen or somthing like that. Please, any info is good info.

The amount is generally 90% water, 10% h2o2.

Does this method work? Is it true that I wont need to pressure cook or do all the normal cleanliness procedures. Just add Hydrogen and grow mushrooms?

-ALWAYS be as clean as possible. If you don't do this, you're setting yourself up for failure.

Just add Hydrogen and grow mushrooms?
-add hydrogen to what? water? how's the water going to be used?

I read that the hydrogen kills all the contaminates, so if thats the case I wouldnt need to pressure cook. Thats why I wrote this post for, its becuase I have no clue how to use the hydrogen peroxide or what to do. I want to find out if what I read was true and if It actually does these things

H2O2 is only a helpful tool in fighting off contams and by no means a substitute for any normal cleanly procedures or a pressure cooker.  :yesnod:
H2O2 kills spores not contaminates and also breaks down easily from what i understand so its not like it lasts.  A misting solution of like a 10:1 water/h202 ratio is good to use on casings to ward off future contams before their spores can germinate.

i would say no, hydrogen peroxide won't kill all of the contaminants. Where did you read that at? (link please).

it seems liveby has done this with pasta. hrm. can you post a tek or did you follow one? (link, if tek was followed, please)

if you're doing the PF jar method, you don't HAVE to pressure cook, you can boil the jars... i did that for my first grow and only got one contamed jar.

this is the strangest thing i've heard in a while.

of course it diff in the medium used , pf needs to be pc or frac sterizied , also my tek has yet to be further explored!

you've been reading wrong, or not thoroughly enough. H202 can be used in many ways to help keep operations more sterile, but it's just an extra procedure, and an added safety net. It is by no means used as  a substitute for pressure cooking or any of the many other sterility methods you'll read and use when you go back and re-read the FAQ's a LOT more thoroughly...

uh, i'd say it wasn't the hydrogen peroxide that got rid of the contams, but the boiling. maybe the hydrogen peroxide could be considered an additive, but since h2o2 breaks up at 120 deg. F, i don't see how your tek would help.

i don't know, i've never read the book and tried the method. if you want to do that, by all means, try it. otherwise, i'd say shy away from that.

laziness and misinformation are the cause of most failures in this hobby IMO.
