It's Okay To Hold False Beliefs
    #3683833 - 01/26/05 03:14 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

I learned from many of the nice folks here in S&P that it's okay to hold false beliefs as long as they make you feel good. Because that's really what's important... feeling loved, feeling secure, feeling safe, etc... So cherish all the beliefs you hold and damn anyone who tries to make you question yourself. Questioning yourself and thinking critically are evil tools of the pessimistic, cynical skeptic... damn them for making you feel uncomfortable!! Where is the love? WHERE IS THE MOTHER FUCKING LOVE?!

I'm here for hugs and kisses... who's with me?

and what are false beliefs? Many people try to discredit certain beliefs as false simply because they're skeptics who enjoy destroying whatever anyone else believes because of their own convictions.

Sclorch, what makes you think the truth behind the illusion of duality , opposition and conflict doesn't feel good?

Only guilt wishes to punish the self and thinks it deserves to feel like shit, that life is shit, hard rough and tough and I say thats bullshit.

The truth is, I am alive today, breathing fresh florida air, the birds are chirping outside, my daughter is laughing, my husband is scoring new dealers so he is happy and we are healthy together, thriving and happy in love. Yes I feel good in my truth and have so much love inside of me I have extra to share!!!!!!!!!

Who wants some jiggy love?

Many people try to discredit certain convictions as false simply because they're believers who enjoy destroying whatever anyone else believes because of their own faith.

love do not exist, love is made and gone. to hold on to love, is no different from holding hate. so hate in love, love hate, and prosper!!

the love is here, and no where.
feel it, and make your own. your owning is your person :P

(oh how i love posting, even when i do not)

Love is a fairytale, tell it and its (t)here..

What beliefs are not false? Is there anything we can know with certainty?

Gomp, I am laughing to hard, not that the kid got hurt but over how you matched that clip with the question to the statement! :rotfl:

Gomp, wasn't it you who said that the ultimate truth is all lies?

Ya, I think we make it up individually and collectivly as we go along. That being said, if you're going to make up anything, make love, make good, make room, make way, make peace-it feels better!

Slavery was allowed in the USA (and elsewhere) because of the false belief held by many whites that Africans did not qualify as men and therefore not protected by the Constitution.

African chieftains also participated in the "game" because of a similar belief that the members of the tribe were their property to trade as they saw fit.

No harm in false beliefs as long as you are the one in power.

Will you let me believe in Santa Claus?

"A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

You sound suprised that all the new youngsters are into just FEELING loved, secure and safe. Most were not raised feeling these things so they cling to them during youth. Be patient Sclorch the exigencies of life will jade away the rosey glasses after a time. But for now the former forum of S&P is dead and we have The David Icke/ Art Bell/Starchild/2012 forum  best just laugh it off and perhaps pick up the pieces of the many shattered "beliefs" once their own delusion becomes apparent. Hell some of this stuff MAY be true, but until someone delivers something besides the "I think/I heard/I read" evidence, we all are just speculating about much of our subjective experience.
I bop in to read the wildest shit and bop back out, Nothing to say here ya talkyloos.
Too bad I will miss this place kinda, and I want to publicly say thank you to you Sclorch for many hrs of INTERESTING and STIMULATING mental exercise. I have grown from our exchanges and your posts. You also gave me the single best bit of personal advice in a tough situation(which is resolving itself as these things do but w/o much of the histrionics and unecessary lamentation, but rather an admirable acceptance and determination to survive)I will not forget your or your words, dare I say My Friend? This ain't no maudlin Goodbye post just a eulogy for something which is dying as we know it.
