Syringe problem?

While I was getting ready to inoculate my jars with my PF syringe, I accidently unscrewed the needle itself. All I meant to do was pull the plastic needle cover off, not unscrew the needle itself. I wasn't even thinking. Anyway I saw what I had done and quickly screwed it right back on.
Do you think I have any reason to worry or not? And has anything like this ever happend to anyone else?

This exact same thing happened to my friend. She took the tape off, then started to pull on the lid that covers the needle. It wouldn't come off, so she started twisting, and the next thing you know, the needle came off. She put it back on, in hopes that everything would be ok. She innoculated 8 jars, and they all are fine (about 100% colonized) except for one jar which got contam.'ed, but she doubts it was from the needle coming off...

In short, you're ok. If you haven't already done so, innoculate. Flame or put alcohol on the needle before innoculating each jar. Good luck.

You should be fine. I presume you were using the Common Sense tek which means your hands, etc. were clean.

a smart idea when innoculating is always to wipe your hands with an alcohol swab for each jar, just incase something like that happens

Yeah I always spray my hands down really good with Lysol, as well as the surrounding area. So hopefully that took care of everything.
