#6 with a little practice you can teach yourself to draw a syringe one handed. I do. Don't worry about dulling the needle tip. You're not shooting up

2. If the syringe is sterile fromt he pack, then it?s completely sterile, no need to flame it either.
3, 4. take a small glass, perhaps a small schnaps glass(40ml)
5. put the print back into the plactic baggie.
6. as in 3, 4 rake smaller glass suck out as much as possible, fill the syringe with 11ml of water initially, then you?ll hsve 9-10 ml in the syringe at the end.

8. don?t use isopropy for the alcohol flame, it?s no good. use either methanol or ethanol.

when u pull back on the syringe,pull back then wait till it starts filling up,then pull back somemore.dont try to pull the entire 10 cc in one try slowly fill it up and u will get no air.also wash the cap in anti-bac soap and sterlize needle.if your hands are clean then u will not contam. the needle when it touches the cap.

1) I always use a pot with tin foil on it
2) If you bought sterile syringues/needles, then don't worry it is sterile as well
3)You may boil it but I only wash it with anti-bacterial soap
4) If you boiled it or washed, then jump that step as long as the shot glass remained in a "sterile" environnement
5)Use a "glovebox" when you work. It doesn't need to be elaborated. A simple transparent container works
6)Always pull more than 10cc at first, fill the shot glass and then take back what you need, and you won't have much air in it. "Can I scrape more spores for the next syringe into the shotglass with some leftovers?" Sure ! The last syringues will be the best.
7)I don't sterilise the bag, but I wrap my syringues in tin foil, so that nothing can interfere
8) Syringues in the fridge, and prints in a dark not too hot clean place
9)I never sterilise my needles. When I want to use a syringue, I replace the needle with a new sterile one. One step less, and you're sure that it's sterile and at room temperature. I bought my needles in 100 packs.
One thing will dramatically help you : sterile gloves. I use them for every step of the mushroom cultivation (for prints, syringues, mixing the substrate, handling the cakes, preparing my casings...), and I have excellent results. I never had a syringue contaminated. And I almost never have contamination problems.
You've done a great work preparing your first syringues. I'm sure everything will go fine !

Well......I'm not the best....but i have had good luck.
I clean the crap out of my kitchen.....wash the fricken floor....i bleach the counters....A clean workspace is a friendly one.
1.) I don't even do that.
2.) Don't worry about the needle guard too much....The inside of the guard was sterile when you first got it.....if you got it new.
If you didn't get the needle new....you could boil the guard in purified water in a clean coffee mug.....that you zap in the microwave...Then stick it in a ziplock baggie...for later.
I buy new needles and they are in a sealed guard.
3.) I boil my shot glasses in a clean coffee mugs in the microwave in purified water....pour the water out.
I pull the shot glass out of the mug....fill it with purified water...then nuke that.
Then i fill my syringe up with the boiling water from the shot glass.
Then i squirt the water out into the sink.... I repeat this several times.
Then i leave the water in the syringe the 3rd time.
I use several shot glasses.
And then i cover the shot glass with a clean glass....so its inside the bigger glass.
I put all my stuff on a clean cutting board that i have already wiped down with Alcohol.
4.) I clean the inside of my shot glasses if i use them, with a sterile cotton ball with Alcohol on it.
5.) I do the Oven Tek...I turn the oven on low...Open the oven door....then i put a clean cutting board down on top of the oven door as a work space...I then spray the area and air with Lysol spray....Then Flame my Exacto knife...then I wipe it down with alcohol.....I use a sterile baby food jar.... I scrap my spores into the jar ....then i add purified water to the spores in the jar...then close the lid.
Just use the amount of spores that you need.....and reseal the spore print.
I let my spores sit over night in the baby food jar....just twirl the jar a few times...to mix up the spores with the water.
I then cover up my cutting board....with a clean cotton towel....move it up to the clean counter.
Turn off the oven.....shut the door.
Then i make up my substrate jars....pressure cook them....let them cool over night too.
Next morning i turn the oven on again....on low....wait til it warms up....move my cutting board down on top of the oven door....take the towel off.
The syringe or syringes that i am using are on the cutting board with the baby food jar with the spore water...I squirt the water out of my syringe into anything....I wipe the syringe with a cotton ball with alcohol on it...Then i open the baby food jar.....and suck up the spore water into the syringe...Then i put the lid back on the baby food jar....Then i am ready to inoc my jars.
I use the baby food jar so i don't have to tilt the pain in the ass shot glasses...when filling my syringe with spore water.
6.) Use the baby food jar and you won't have this problem.
7.) No...cause your gonna put the needle guard on the syringe....and later on when you use the needle you will wipe the needle with alcohol to clean it.
I keep my syringes in a ziplock bag in my frig.
I keep my prints in my basement in a small index card box...the temp is cool down there.
8.) I don't flame my needles much....Just when i am making a new spore syringe....You can just wipe them with Alcohol.
I replace my needles pretty regularly....anyway...mine don't get rusty.
9.) I don't know....can you follow directions ?

As you saw for yourself, isopropanol doesn?t burn with a clean flame.

if u want to flame the needle w/o getting carbon on it, you can put a piece of tinfoil over the tip and flame that. BUT, last time i used heat to sterilize a needle, it started to melt the plastic at the part of the syringe where the needle screws into the tube.
