im sure this could make a killing! i dotn mean shitty little bics, but zippo type ones. have a reall nice logo engraved adn pump them out. i would be willign to bet that head shops world wide would be into them. im sure members would buy a few, but head shops probably a lot.
any possibility? that would be tres cool!

lighters available on the site is cool I suppose...
but selling them in headshops will only bring idiots like beerweed420. plus it's nice for this site to not be advertising too much to the public because it's better to stay under the radar. not to mention a lot more traffic which means it will be more expensive to run the site.

Not necessarily, we might even make a profit from lighters vs. new traffic, as I would bet the lighter one user buys profits the Shroomery more than the loss of one user creating a username here
I agree it would not help us stay under the radar though, but perhaps we don't need to include www.shroomery.org on the lighters if that is a problem, just make lighters with trippy shrooms and such on them and have the credit to the Shroomery in small unnoticeable letters on the bottom or such

The Shroomery could definitely make a good profit if it diversified its merchandise. It could also set up booths at raves and concerts and such. I'd also like to point out that it's too late to be talking about being under the radar. I guarantee you there's already feds watching this place. It' s too big for them not to.

Yeah, SS7, that's definitely true. But i'd buy at least 3 Shroomery lighters. I don't think that advertising is such a good idead, because then stupid high schoolers will be going around telling friends about this place.

I agree, though I don't like the idea of diversification in the realm of merchandise. booths at raves and concerts is a great idea, but should DEFINATELY not be limited to just raves. I think that erowid is one of the only ones that go to mycological conventions with the sole purpose of providing information related to psychoactive mushrooms. Myco meetings happen all over the place and the booth members could provide tips on cultication, hunting as well as harm reduction.

well boothes at raves isnt a bad idea and maybe they are into it. but im assuming they arnt, its not that hard sending a whack of money to a company and get a box of custom lighters.
so admins, what do you think? i think it would be a good way to support teh site and line your pockets. i would love a nice silver shroomery zippo type thing.
surly this idea has come up before. are there any reasons why its not done or cant be done?
more people to the site is only good for the shroomery in my eyes. more people is more hits which is what advertisers look at. more advertisers better shroomery. cops already knwo about this place, how couldnt they. may as well make a bunch of money at it. nothing about it is illegal by any stretch of the imagination, just let the mods fix teh beerweeds adn we should be good.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm sure we will offer this and/or many things like it in the not so distant future.
However at the moment, we're a bit consumed with setting up a legally operable business infrastructure to do so. Just have to get a few more papers filed and we'll be comin' out with lots o' good stuff
