Control Jar technique
    #336284 -

An aquantince sterilized 12 1/2 pints of PF substrate 3 days ago in anticipation of recieving their spore syringes early this week. Unfortunately for them the syringes have yet to arrive..and there may have been a problem with their order. How long can PF substrate keep in sealed jars once sterilized? I have read in one tech you can store them indefinitely until innoculation? My aquantince has noticed no change in the appearance of the substrate so they should be fully sterile. They just don't want their jars to turn into concrete or something while awaiting their order. Any help/advice is much appreciated.

the jars should be cool, as long as the syrenge gets to you in less then 2 months, once my friend sterlized jars and did not innoculate them until 2.5 months later. what might not hurt would be to pressure cook them again, this should not hurt the substrate if they are air tight in the steamer. good luck

you should be ok if you keep them cool . i would also add that you should keep them out of a dry environment. if you still have tape on your innoculation holes i don't know how long they will keep but from my monkeys' experiences if you keep them there uncolonized for long enough they will eventualy start growing something. so , innoculate as soon as possible.
