nice adition to the mouse over in posts

i like being able to read more of the post than before before i go into it, good modification admins!

You aren't going crazy, I was messing with this today. In addition to the longer mouseovers, I also made several improvements to the way the text is formatted. Hopefully this will make the mouseover preview more useful :smile:.

i think that im the only one that noticed these luttle changes today! it might be an indication that 22hrs a day is too much to be on this board

Wrong because nothing changed for me? Sure!
Here is what I see:


As I said, It has been this way for at least 1 year now(the same amount of lines is displayed as before, 4 lines).

What DID change is that the text is better processed than before, so those 4 lines really contain text, not any linebreaks or similar.

That's a Firefox limitation, unlike IE it will only display tooltips up to a certain length. There's not really much we can do about it, part of why I changed the text formatting was to get the best use of the space available.

What browser are you using? The mouseovers should appear in any browser which supports them.

they do appear.. in the forums themselves.. just not on the last post section of the main index.. :smile:

Oh heh guess I should look at the pictures a little more closely.

The reason we haven't added this yet is that it would require additional mySQL queries every time anyone loaded the forum index. Although it would be a nice feature it isn't really worth the performance hit in my opinion. Unfortunately we have to make those kinds of compromises sometimes to keep things speedy. Thanks for the suggestion though.
