This is the county by county vote count. Looks to me that there is a lot of red EVERYWHERE. It amazes me how you guys can sit there and call Republicans names, I guess it is your only defense. Just wait until all those threatening to leave the country actually leave, it will all be red.

Thats a map. Check the population..in wyoming and in alabamy one person's vote is worth 10 times that of somebody in CA or NY or anywhere else there is population. Its not deep south its backwater rural billy bobs everywhere

Overwhelmingly, people that live in large population centers voted Kerry. Leaving the more rural areas of less population density to favor Bush.


Simplified: City Folk are democrats, rural folks are republican.

Rural Backwoods Billy Bob takes it.

Gijith the chunck of blue along the texas border are counties with almost 100% hispanic population, and always vote democratic. but CNN reported that bush almost got 50% of the hispanic vote in the country. that is why you never hear the dems or the reps talk about closing the border. there is a fight for that minority vote. my county is about 70% hispanic and i was the only gringo in line when i voted, but bush still got 65% of the vote.

also the map is VERY deceptive, look at the numbers, a small margin in this nation seperates dem from repubs ....only a few million...much of the red space on that map is VERY sparcly populated, people who are out of touch, ya know?? any of the populated areas, that are multi cultural and such are blue

naaah i dont think the election was rigged....im just trying to reallity check all these republicans screaming about mandates and such....hell we had 8 yrs of clinton, now 8 yrs of bush....just remember in the 60s when the repoops lost to johnson and had no control of congress, people said it was the END of the republican party, the country was too blue...it goes back and forth.

ignoring the fact that Bush has a mandate doesn't help much since he does. More people voted for bush then any other president in history. He gained seats in the Senate when the "Exit polls" (nice polls) said he'd lose them and the election.

Noone is saying that the libs are through, however they exposed themselves this election and i'm guessing they will be doing more of the same in the next election. I love this strategy actually. I mean how nice is it that the liberal candidate will flat out tell you they are going to fuck you. I love it.

no liberal wants to fuck you or anyone else....you are brainwashed into thinking the repubs are givng you sooooo much more money...the bush tax cut doesnt benefit you or any of your neighbors... there is NO mandate, reagan had a mandate his second term when he won most of the country... bush has barely 50% of the support...i think that means the country is VERY divided

like i said it is the majority now but it will change....i believe the best position is somewhere in the middle....also i think more people think democratic but are alientated by hot button issues such as gay marriage, gun control and abortion.....i hope you arent one of those who thinks dems can only do wrong and repubs can only do right. we had 8 years of prosperity under a democrat :shrug: also daschelle was beat because he made a very stupid mistake, he moved to washington and alienated his electorate. the election shifted the other way when his candidate harped on that issue.....he deserved to lose, he went washington and alienated his state

Bush does not have a mandate; he won by 3% - this is the lowest winning difference by an incumbent in presidential history.

I find it interesting that Democrats decry the ignorance and low mentality of those who vote Republican, but if you recall in the last presidential election it was Democrats who trumpeted that their supporters couldn't figure out how to punch a ballot, and the Democrats were so dim that they weren't even embarrassed by it!
