I know what you mean. My last love relationship ended almost 2 years ago. But I can't really say I've forgotten the feeling, because to this day, I still love her as strongly as I ever have, and a part of me always will, even though we've long since gone our separate ways. I do, however, feel I'm ready for another relationship. I just need to meet the right girl, which is proving to be a rather difficult task.

I think if you're applying the term "use" rather loosely, then I might agree, but I don't think real love is just about using people as a means to an end.  True love is selfless.  What's ironic is that when you find true love, a relationship with that person becomes completely optional, since your only concern is their happiness, which you're more than willing to put ahead of your own.  Like that girl I mentioned earlier in this thread:  I still love her very much, but I'm fine with the fact that we're not together anymore, as long as she's happy, and doing what she wants to do.

:crymeariver: Me and my girlfriend have been a couple since 7th grade. We are now Freshman in college and I can tell you that true love really does exist. It's when the other person has to be with you for you to feel like a whole person. I will do anything for her and put her feelings and needs above mine. Example, Me and her where out in a field and where messed up pretty bad. The cops started coming and I knew that they would catch us so I had her run while I stood there and waited. She got away and I was the one who got into trouble. Thats the kind of shit love makes you do.

I totally disagree.  If you can't be a whole person on your own, you will never be able to truly complete another human being.  Relationships where people keep saying "I neeeeed you" never work out.  It turns into a power struggle, and a lot of resentment comes out when one person wants to do something alone every now and then.  Depending on someone else to make you happy will leave you feeling sad more often than not.  You need to be a whole person already, not needing someone else to make you whole.  Don't get me wrong, I know true love exists, I've felt it.  My last relationship ended nearly a year ago, and I can't wait for the next one.  It's freakin hard to meet decent women these days, but it will happen eventually, and I will embrace it when it does.  However, I know that I don't NEED somebody else to be happy in life.  I want to share my life with someone, and we will both be even better for it. :peace:

I was madly in love, then it began to diminish. On a muchroom trip I realized that this girl was really hurting me, not on purpose, but she was. And I eventually, and I have no fucking idea how, starting to have very strong feelings for another girl. For months I felt like absolute shit, I thought I was in love! If anyone was to ever meet me and my old girlfriend, they'd say we're perfect and that I treated her like a princess.

Wish I was still in love with someone. Maybe this is some sort of punishment for me. Or maybe I'm too picky when it comes to woman. Ah well.... but it still would be sweet to have someone to hold again. Fuuuuck.

And what you said about not needing another person to make yourself whole is so right on. I am trying to dig out the codependent behaviors that are ingrained in myself. It's hard work but already worth it.

its been a long time, i miss it when i think about it occassionally, but not very much. Its great when you have it, and pretty aweful when you lose it.. but its like alot of things that keep drawing you back in because it feels so right when your in it. I've forgotten all but a faint memory of what it feels like, but i'm not looking for love to remind myself, it'll come along to you in time ivi, theres so many people out there for everyone odds are in your favor.
