Don't think it was that. It turned that color after it was cut. It was white, and blue, opaque white then the pink turned up after a few minutes in the opaque area, unless I missed it. Never seen it before. These things kicked my ass and a few other people's. We are all well experienced travelers too. I'll look into the bacteria though. Hopefully it's not it.

My mutant hillbilly balls turn pink for a quick moment before going blue , unfortunately they are as potent as the normal fruit themselves though .
Sidenote , doesn't always happen either , more often then not when cut into they just go green/ blue

my first thread was about this. Still no idea what it is. Seems to fade away over time after harvest and dry to a light brown. Whatever it is, seems pretty normal.

It happens. I wouldn't have any percentages or something at hand, but it's one of the more often occuring mutations.

If you have all the things for cloning, I'd suggest casting a wide net, ie multiple attempts. Cleaning up a clone has some learning curve, and if you can get a clean one straight off the bat, you can spread out that curve. Cloning by means of a Josex poke is a great entrance level.

I had some B+ albinos and leucistic shrooms when I just started, kept the albinos around for a while, pretty things and they didn't make a spore mess. Which is a real thing with cubes.

quick question, how do i distinguish between fluffy/tomentose mycelium and cobweb mold? one kit has gotten fluffy growth but its not "patches" , more like little dots here and there, could be hyphal knots for all i know..

I have observed this myself. My current hypothesis is high iron content in our well water. Specifically I noticed it on grows that I did not use distilled water. I didn't think to feed this information back to the community when I saw it clear up moving portabellas to distilled water.

I haven't conducted any testing on it as we see it in all of our gardening. I assumed most others would not see it as I don't believe water from municipalities are as iron rich because it would cause major issues with water infrastructure.


Do you know your water's iron content?

Unfortunately both of those look bad. See how the outside edge is disorganized like someone dropped a bunch of white sticks? The mycelium you're looking for has intelligent, organized growth. The first plate has a giant halo going on.

The plate I thought had hope was the fourth pic in the first set of pix. The one with the large droplets of condensation and the big triangle shaped transfer.

I just plucked the albino and put it in a ziplock in fridge. I ordered sterile swabs, a scalpel, agar and petri dishes for cloning it. It's on!

cobweb mold isn't that common, afaik. mold youre likely to get can look very thin and wispy and will grow more quickly than myc.
