It's been a while since I've grown these. I've got a tub going now that's got a ton of knots. What is everyone using for casing? I believe coir worked the last time I grew these?

Verm works nicely, peat seems a tiny bit better but I've never tried casing these with coir so I can't speak for that but I know some people have amazing results even without a casing.

But yeah I and many others use verm straight outta the bag with great results

Thank you! Fine or course? I'm assuming course.

I got them to fruit but barely... So this is what I've got - a random mess another one is opening the cap by now though and imma be honest, that's the best cluster I've had the dark ones are ready for harvest but the rest there needs plenty of time still

And I'm not certain about xalpa... I just remember the name being thrown around but I could be wrong.

---

Interesting how different growers are seeing different forms of tres soles. Two had mentioned caps not opening. Must be environmental?

My caps have all flattened out (I do like the bell caps too before they flatten). Mss all fruits similar so far, a few screwy stipes but otherwise little variation.

I tried to pop this cake out to help that fruit but no luck. Probably fruit will get nasty. Idk I'm just going to let her be. I'd be more concerned with this jar if I didn't have a successful jar also fruiting!

They are looking a little wispy to me. Do you have any pics of your grain jars? I mean you did make it 2.5 months with only 1 tub getting the green so I can't see it being too nasty.
I had one culture took 3 months to put out a super small flush of about 7 shrooms, then it popped a good flush every month for the next 7 months. Maybe you got the same one and have another 2-3 weeks to wait. Do you see any solid looking bumps, like a bigger knot anywhere on the surface? Is your surface drying to where you need to mist? Maybe more FAE?

Anyone try a beef punishment on semps before?

No pics of the grain jars unfortunately, but i didnt detect anything out of the ordinary.

What temperature are they sitting at?

I don’t have an exact measurement, but it should be between 65-70f.

What's everyone doing with these right now? I have 8 shoeboxes going. 4 of them
are pretty much shit, with side pins and aborts all over the place. The other 4
haven't pinned yet. This is the only halfway decent one in the bunch.

---

Looks like a pretty good second flush to me. The yield is usually the same but the fruits are always bigger on the second flush for me.

Sometimes these bastards pin like fucking crazy everywhere you don't want it... Packing the substrate helps but not entirely which is also weird since the substrate usually doesn't shrink.

Also are you sure they're aborting and not just being slow? I've had pins which came at the same time but some finished over 10 days later than the rest and grew slower.

FYI that tote in the picture is still going strong and producing fruits since March this year

My tub 'Camel' put out 6 flushes but very recently showed signs of fungus gnats. So I retired it to the compost
Wanted to keep it around longer.

That's the problem...it's a first flush

So, you guys are doing multiple flushes with these? I mean 6 flushes is crazy.

What's the yield like? Are subsequent flushes putting out good weight?

I've just been doing one-and-done with all mine.

That's the problem...it's a first flush And you are right...maybe some of these "aborts" are pins...I am seeing cap formation on
some of them.
