So I bought an aquarium heater and Im thinking of putting my tubs in a bigger water tub with the aquarium heater heating the bigger tub...

This is my plan for keeping my stuff at temp for winter

What say ye?

:hellyeah:

Yeah, so my thinking is that I can keep my s2b tubs sitting in the bigger tub with the aquarium heater which will keep the s2b at a cool 72Β°F since the rest of my house sits at around 65Β°F during winter

At least this is my solution for my situation since I dont have a Martha

The heat is mostly lost due to surface air exposure. So if you really want this to work without running it constantly you need to have a cover.

:nodofunderstanding:

Gotcha, Im thinking it will probably need to be heated every other day or so but since its an automatic heater it just runs when it needs to

As long as it never touches the tubs or trays,  yes.

That's the rub literally.
The one I have is pretty big and it has foam rings on top because it's supposed to be suspended on the surface and floating.
If any of these type of heating elements are exposed to air even for a couple of seconds they'll get damaged pretty quickly in most cases.

It didn't take me long it was mostly just placement. The first one I thought had even better placement than the second one but I didn't wanna move it to put the second one in. The first one is underneath a cherry laurel tree which provides a lot of shade without losing very many leaves. It gives a lot of cover for the backend.
The second pond I wanted nearby the first pond for just every reason. With both of them it was really just digging a hole that's all the real prep work it really took. I already knew what I wanted.
I still have room and could get really crazy with it and try and have some sort of double bubble waterfall set up at some point. But I'm quite satisfied with the way it is. At least for now.

Had I known then what I do now things would be a little different but not very. I would've just had less problems.

I would. I would look at you pond and run my fingers through the water and see if there are any goldfish or coy or crayfish in there. I like a good pond and I like talking about them.

There are definitely creatures in there.
I ordered some Japanese trap door snail to replace the mystery snails I was sold under false pretenses.

Shibunkin, minnow, loach and zebra danio.
That last one is what I'm worried about. I've heard some testimony saying they should be fine and I've heard others say that their toast as soon as the temperature hits 50 in that pond.

I don’t flame sterilize when I use disposable scalpels but lately I’ve been a little iffy on ordering stuff so I’m just reusing and putting the dab torch to good use

I love ponds, I want a pond someday

I just use a candle or a bic lighter... Had a torch but it disappeared (probably abducted by my son). Also I only use an x-acto and a pimple popper tool found in the trash. That's the entire toolbox for the SAB.

Apart from one session where everything got yeast, I haven't had any irregularities in my clean work for a long time.

Just saying that I totally get everyone's love for myco gadgets, but think they serve no purpose apart from being cool props.

Edit: @bloods, apparently a live fire training in Alberta got out or hand and they accidentally exploded a gas tank / line or something. That was your bomb and aaa fire yesterday

Also I tooted churp for being a lowbrow puppet, it's so obvious.
I also added them both to my nazi watchlist in my journal, so we can watch them
