Its in my closet with no HVAC so i have a small space heater in there set to 76, at night the room drops to 74 with the space heater on and during the day its possible to peak at 76-77F. I never let it go above 80. If it hits 79 i blast the closet with a large fan to drop the temp.

I just added a tiny fan in there today to get some more air circulation in there to try and help with that metabolic heat build up. But also,,, just lowering the space heater temp probably could have done that.

If it is bacterial do a combination of agar wedges new tek that's like half pour agars leaving somw of the plate without agar n transfer mycelium to the plastic n watch it jump to agar then transfer


Or do a agar sandwitch or a cabin sequester.

A good cs will set u right most of the time.

To be honest I would stay away from these cheap 3D printed ones. a lot of them just have two small computer fans inside..

You'd be much better off saving up just a little bit more and getting a chinese-made ffu from amazon.

I have the FFU that hippie posted, and personally I think it was extremely worth it. I think quite a few of us have one.

I'm sorry let me be more clear..  I used to have one and it was a waste of money.

I really don't mean to burst your bubble. I'm just trying to save you a lot of Hassle and money in the long run.

If you already got it and are willing to listen to Our advice..

I recommend immediately canceling and returning. You shouldn't have any problem getting your money right back.

your ffu or lmh is going to be one of the most expensive things you buy in this hobby.(however that thing ypur looking at is way overpriced. They probably spent $30 or less to make it)

Anything under the price ranges I just showed you I would be very skeptical.

Beyond the fact that it's not going to do the job well. It's made out of very cheap  material its not sturdy at all..

Finding replacement filters isn't the easiest either. 

Just because they're "trusted vendors" :billythumbdown:doesn't mean they can be trusted not to rip you noff. . That's one thing we try to get across  to everybody here..

Those guys are there to make money and nothing else. They sell tons of useless equipment.(%80) And that would be one of them.

Trust me. You don't want to go down the road of wasting money just because you are really excited about getting an ffu.

I know tons of members around here who have the one that I posted and they all stand by it. so if you don't trust Amazon at least trust us.

Those ones are sturdy made very well have the proper fan and filter and do the job that it's supposed to. They will last  years and years. And replacement filters are super easy to obtain.

You don't want to ignore this advice.

yeah coco bliss is good too and i think its related to the other brands somehow in manufacturing or distribution. i have seen like
''eco earth' by Plantonix and cocobliss by ecoearth or something.

I think you’ll find that size very limiting. I bought an FFU that was 12”x-12” it was pretty cramped. I was able to do agar work, inoculate jars and with some creativity grain to grain inoculations .  It proved to small to work with bags very well though. Right now I’m running 24”x18”. The extra room was well worth the money. My 2 cents.

PF tek vs agar streaking for MSS
Which one is better? I'm aware agar will show results quicker but not the fruit so idk if that plays any role when selecting. I'm kinda leaning to agar because I have it all ready atm. I'd appreciate if someone could give me some directions, pros/cons.

most kits are you-dependent and you start with a 50/50 chance. the overall goal is to increase your odds of getting fruit -> oversee entire process from start to finish. and you can only stand to gain xp from it. buying from a vendor you are primarily reliant on how meticulous and motivated for quality they are. alot of vendors talk a big game and supply an underwhelming product, but thats advertising. i wont tell you how to spend you rmoney but i suggest going cheaper, for sure. especially if youre making a financial commitment to an all-in-one product like you are.

Yes I didn’t notice that either! Good catch!!

Also if you can order a 16x16 pre-filter for the back. If it’s the same size as mine (pretty sure they all are) that’s the size of the back of the fan. Pre filter will make it last MUCH longer.

I just liked on Amazon but they were expensive. I think i paid maybe $8 at Home Depot for a Merv 8 air filter as a pre filler. I’m lazy so I just taped it, but others have some cool ways to clip it on.

Read somewhere potency can vary based on drying method. Been using a standard vegetable dryer for years. Is there a better method?
