Is it ok to use WD-40 silicon spray on the pc gasket.

As long as it's the actual special silicone version it should be be good, but I wouldn't use regular WD-40.
Silicone grease is a great choice for PC seals and gaskets.

They do reach 15psi.

Everything about it is legit. It's a presto. Just simply electric and simplified

Getting over that price  is hard for me though. I'm definitely going to go for the next best option which is not really any less of an option.

Induction compatible pc. Preferably presto.(just cause)  And an induction plate.

Ah ok. Chat told me it reaches only 116C ...

It's worlds difference between a normal PC though. The fact you can just leave it and not micro manage it for 2 - 4h is a "game changer". This is the biggest plus and why I'd almost be willing to pay for it. Being quiet when PCing is also a big plus but not as important as hassle free PCing ...

I'd avoid using anything that isnt food safe, presto recommends using a suuuuuper light coating of cooking oil on the gasket. Whats wrong with yours?

Forst of all Welcome to the shroomery!

Stick around and ask some questions and if you're serious about growing some mushrooms will get you there.

Anyways

They aren't allowed to offer both  you'll notice vendors either sell supplies or cultures but not both..

Just check out our vendors list. We're not really allowed to name vendors here but there's a few on there I've used and they're good.

Check you pms in a moment and I'll link you some.

On a side note I do recommend in the future consider buying all the supplies that you need.  To DIY.

maybe after you get a grow or done with those. Because it'll save you a lot of money in the long run.

Also check out the HHG

Once again welcome and don't hesitate to ask for any more advice. We're here for you.

I'm not sure if maybe you missed some of the conversation we had or the one previously a couple days ago on the same topic but you can basically get the same setup and Comforts from the much cheaper induction compatible Presto  with an induction plate.

It's another option that people like kloakk stand by.  And the main difference is price.

Yeah, I missed that. Idk how you can program the induction hob to automatically adjust heat output in regards to the PC temp? I'll look for the discussion ...

You basically dial it in. And if you were to get the same plate kloakk has he's done that for you.( obviously his location is different than you so Minor Adjustments probably need to be made)

It's exactly the same process as you're already doing with your regular pesto. The main difference is knowing what temperature to set it at in the beginning. And what temperature you go down to when you lower it. Both are Company by a timer that maintains that exact temperature the entire time and shuts off when necessary.

So the gist of it is as long as you figure that stuff out and watched your PC personally and have everything dialed in. You can then set and forget the stuff and not have to do any babysitting.

That was my main concern I had that they assured me wasn't an issue.

Cuz I'm always having the babysit and at some point when my kitchen gets too hot it's always climbing no matter what and I'm always having to back and forth with my flame. Maybe one run has no babysitting but then I definitely have to babysit the other..

And then kloakk and can't remember who else. Say nope .  None of that is an issue. All you do is vent Place Your Rocker lower your temp to desired proper temperature. Set a the timer. And walk away.

Seems like enough for me.

@tryp. I didn't know all American made one as well. All right only look them up in the first time the other day and thought maybe Presto was the only one. But I did have in mind it was more likely there were others I just didn't look good.

I bet that thing's cool too. Probably just as or more expensive?

Nah, it doesn't work like that, it can't, not with my PC. The rocker sucks, you move it a bit and the air exchange level changes and you need to addjust the heat, and it moves by it self also, so no way not to baby sit ... Also, with time, you need less heat then at the beginning of the PC cycle.

The presto digital is really something imo.

I use this in my garage The timer is great; It is slow to get up to temp compared to my stove. If I were to do it again Iโ€™d get a Cadco. No personal experience but I hear good things.

The second link, gripstick. Bags are sealed after PC run so I open the PC put on a gripstick and hang them to draw in air.

I have a 23qt induction presto, 13g of magnets on the regulator and a cheap induction plate. I have it set to 1600W from start to when I reach 16psi, then turn it down to 800w, set the timer to 2 hours and go to bed :awedance:

Yeah so basically in order to dial in your induction plate, you will have to be present the first time when using it to know how long it takes to vent and then how long it takes to build up pressure. After that you just set the timer to the amount of time you want to PC your contents plus all the additional time it takes to vent and build pressure, then when the timer is done, the induction plate automatically shuts off

And you can adjust the heating element based on temperature in degrees or wattage output like Kloakk does

I feel like that could get dicey given the variables that change with every PC cycle, like the mass of everything inside, the volume of everything, external temperature, barometric pressure, etc. I'd be too worried to just leave it alone on an induction personally, not without getting it up to pressure and monitoring it for a little bit at least, even then I'd be periodically checking. Maybe I'm just paranoid lol.

Yeah I used to be like that at first, but after a few uses of me "babysitting" the PC (basically just hanging out in my garage watching tv or playing digital chess) I quickly realized that my model of PC is pretty predictable when it comes to how it operates even with all the variables

Every model is slighlty different so your mileage may differ

Nah your right, for the most part I run the PC while I'm awake and check it a couple of times, never had to adjust it though, but I'm present until it comes up to pressure and set the timer.

yeah I'll babysit a bit for the first 20 minutes or so after it's at pressure, but once it's holding, I'll run to the grocery store or whatever, turn my back on it a little.

Idk if my anxiety will allow for that lol. Gotta admit, I've just been using my 8qt instapot for everything lately. I have a 23qt presto I bought for cult stuff 10 years ago that I used to run outside on a propane burner, I don't live rurally these days and have a shitty electric coil stove with elements on the smaller side so using the presto feels like a huge burden for some reason. I need to just suck it up and do a run with it and see if it sucks or not lol.
