I do -- I briefly open the cake jar in my SAB and pour in some LI. A little more info here and here. I usually do cakes that way now.

Looks fine to me, but I wouldn't claim to be 100% sure.

I've seen similar reactions when the mycelium was starting to differentiate.

It's a sad day, the cakes never took. The BHT puck got covered and started growing up the sides tho! It's being dunked right now, I might be able to get some fresh genetics from it. The CG is chugging along, so I may be putting some on a plate, cleaning it up and doing plate scrape LI with it.

I have a feeling the hemp was a bust, the other cakes were super dry. Gonna start over with the original recipe but with rye and popcorn flour.

Hey Huskies, I think you’re looking at myc on that cake. Rotisserie containers work well for a few cakes. They’re already vented, the condensation runs down the sloped sides and the covers are light enough the fruits can lift them easily.

^ nice, have you tried just using them as water tubs, or do you always use perlite/verm/etc? they are off the ground, so should be good to go.

They work fine as water tubs. I put the cakes on inverted 100 mm petri dish bottoms, that makes them easy to pick up for a redunk. I used perlite and coir when I started plus I always have both around for the gardens.
