I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in that.  They're chances of survival are much higher if spawned in the spring, but if you're set maybe shred some and leave some whole.

Definitely. I find it the only species where I can consistently eat a decent small dose (like 0.25g) and not have my mental state altered almost whatsoever. Slug bait

It's been a really bad heat and drought here and when you mention slugs I just realized I haven't seen a single one even though it has rained a lot, i do get some random shrooms in my lawn, but never seen them being eaten, what kind of slugs are we talking about, maybe we don't have them here.

I guess there is hope for my attempt of Azzies in the wood chip bin in MN. It may be too late in the season to get anywhere close to having something viable this year. I may just grind up the BRF cakes and put them deep in the pile, cover with leaves to overwinter and hope for the best next season.
