If it's prebuffered coir don't worry about. If you are using unbuffered coir, yes, buffer it even if supplementing cal mag. Call mag will actually get held up by the coir and I think the coir will release salts to make room for cal mag, which could really mess with your nutrients and EC. At least in my experience it was like that. I never did get the balance corrected during that grow.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I'm not going to overkill but I have organic humic acid that I was going to add maybe 1 time a month. Your flowers looks really nice and frosty!

Thanks Big Worm, these SIPS make it too easy. 

I'll get a shot of my GDP gurls when the light comes on for you old school fans out there.  They are just over 50 days in, happens fast.  She's a clone I've been running from CSI for some time. 

Oh, I give my plants a light tsp about once a week per gallon.  The purp plants are in 7 gal smarties, but I normally run passive hydro SIPS.  I was going to feminize these plants, but decided to bloom them out, don't need seeds right now, have WAY too many, I should give some away really, if that's out of order, my bad, don't want to step on toes, I'm in a legal state in that regard.  You ever need anything Big Worm, like that 61-drop top Impala, HOLLA!

Yes.....selective breeding. (And you can use BT during flower)

This year only 2 strains did not get phytoplasma etc so far: starfighter and my cherry sour mac.

I am not saying it is perfect or that I didn't get any bud worm but I think a tobacco plant in the middle has more draw then pot.  Then you just have to watch and pick off and smash worms.

They are hard to find too. I was constantly on the lookout and most of the time only found them once they were rotting out a budget.

BT spray doesn't effect flower taste if you smoke it? Assuming I would need to taper off towards harvest?

Those sure have swollen up & done a lot since the last bud shots I saw you post! Looking dank!

The Gazzurple I'm growing this time around is slightly different than the one pheno/expression that I liked the most from last summer. Pretty much identical in structure/form, but slightly less resin & trichome density and the aroma is a wee bit milder and a little less of the spice/woodsy notes that I love. So far I've seen 4 different phenos/expressions of Gazzurple, 3 of them are all similar and more squat in structure with fatter leaves and more purple/dark colors coming out in the cold and the other was an outlier with a bit more stretchy/lanky thinner leaves and stayed green and had less of the deep/dank notes. One of the two I grew last summer though, was sooo damn dank, really wish I was able to hold onto that one, resin was on a whole other level and the aroma was awe-mazing.






All of my plants have swollen up a lot and are racing towards the end over the last 5 days or so...particularly the early Bubba, Gazzurple, and Chicken & Wafflez are getting real close. A few days ago, within the span of 48 hours, I went from thinking the Gazzurple and C&W was going to be ready the first week of Oct to seeing they're going to be ripe & done before the end of this month for sure.

The Bubba has another 4 to 7 days at the most.

Gazzurple and C&W prob another 7 to 10 days.

Banana Bread should be ripe in 10 to 14 days.

Sparklits prob by Oct 1st.


I harvested the Lemoncello a few nights ago, I left the branch I pollinated as well as another small sacrificial branch intact to go as long as it can in hopes the seeds fully ripen. The plant is getting deep into senescence though, not much chlorophyll left lol, hoping it has enough "juice" & energy in it to direct towards the seeds and hoping the pollinated buds don't get any rot.

The next 4 or 5 days are going to be overcast here, temps around 60F and humidity around 80%+...a bit cold and not ideal for the finish line, so I might bring some of the plants inside and let them get blasted by an HPS for a day or two in much dryer/warmer air before giving they get the chop sometime this next week.

I'm seeing some specs of bud-rot on a few plants, nothing widespread but it is starting to appear .

Gazzurple does really well in the cool & moist marine/coastal climate here though, doesn't get much mold/fungi rot in the buds from the cool & damp air. Doesn't seem to attract as many caterpillars as other strains either.
