Nice pictures! I see a pin hiding in the second one. :mushroom2:
Some of those also have a quite pronounced striation on the caps.

I made some finds about a month ago and have been seeing them around but nothing too big or numerous yet.
I have yet to go out of town looking for them, so far only public lawn action on my part.

Good! We should keep this nice tradition

We started a bit early in other threads.

I started finding subbs in June in Sweden.

Anglers Norway thread.

And we had some active Conocybe Conocybula in Finland arriving on schedule

Pretty sure I forgot/missed something.

I haven't hunted libs yet, but others a finding a lot now. Also the P. fimetaria pasture is starting to fruit. Will go there with my camera someday soon.

Had time to visit two different fields in Estonia today, thinking I may get lucky after the heavy weekend rain, and... absolutely nothing. And I mean NOTHING, not even a single mottlegill or an odd mycena! :leaving:

I guess the season's not really on yet, waiting for the October cold to set in. :levitate:

My camera is about the same age actually. I have a Nikon D5100 with a few lenses but my favorite is the Nikkor 35mm 1.8g. I haven't used it in many years but I'll be bringing it when I go looking for libs this weekend.

Btw did you find any libs yet? My regular spots  here in Scania were still empty last weekend but now the temps have dropped and we've had heavy rainfall so my hopes are up for this weekend:rockon:

I will go out to my best place this weekend, wish me luck. I'm mostly worried because the lack of cows last year. The grass was tall and almost impossible to look through.

Break a leg bro!

Ah shit that sucks... I hope you'll manage to find some anyways. I actually found some Liberty caps here when I was out walking the other day but it was like 4-5 shrooms from a distance.

I'm a bit more lucky than you though (hopefully) because my favourite pasture has at least 2x as many cows as last year so there should be enough poo and the grass is very short, I just need to find a moment when they're not in there:lol:

Yes, same here (in North-Estonia) last week I was checking two fields and found zero. Found some 30 total beginning of September. Strange small numbers, though the weather have been favorable. Maybe have to wait temperature drop to 3-4C at night. So far has been 7-10C at night, 12-15C at daytime.

Me and a friend found 90 yesterday. But over several hours, so picking wasn't that great. The cows was back in my previously prosperous place, but the best productive spot was fenced off from the cows and then grass was cut for winter feed. So conditions for libs was gone there. Oh well, one lost another gained. We also discovered new habitats which looked like they could be great next year and found most liberty caps there.

Hello,
I am a newbie to foraging, and in Baltics. My target has been forest paths. I have managed to find some paths made by forest cut machinery, some used a bit, some abandoned. Have found textbook forest path habitats, like juncus+cespitosa, and... Nothing. Checked multiple locations this weekend.

What could be the reason? Maybe I should have gone earlier in the season, as I have noticed older posts from forest paths around september.

Thanks a lot for any advices of yours

They don't show up on just any forest path. It is usually paths leading to or from pastures where the farmer has been riding a tractor, and also animals passing through.

Oh, okay, thanks.. So, if no livestock in the vicinity, there is no point in even checking? I was under impression suitable grasses are good enough..

If there are no animals grazing nearby, I'd just say forest paths are less likely to produce. It seems that grasslands rich in nitrogen are key for this species, and herbivore dung is a key provider of nitrogen. And also phosphorus, which is another chemical element in psilocybin.
