Question?  I s2B my ATL7 stone jars. I went on vacation and it was too late to case when I got back. I have been debating doing it anyway but it pinned a little and I want to try to get some clone some fruits, and if possible, get spore prints. This is what’s going on currently. Should I put the shoe box into a larger tub and put water in the bottom kind of like a water tub or what do you guys think would be best to try to get some prints out of these fruits that are growing and then after I harvest this flush, I will case it.

EDIT
Currently just shoebox with lids unlatched. Lightly misted twice in last 4 days.

Well, I’m sure I still have that culture around someplace, but my thought process is the healthier and stronger the mushrooms look the better they are for you and the trip is probably the same way

Yup i still have that mutation

Yarp, they like it warm and humid.

My tent stays near 80-85f most of the time and about 80-90%rh.

Dear all,

My last grow was 15 years ago, cubensis on some grain spawned to horse poo / coir. Worked very well.

A friend give me a nicely colonized bag of tampanensis (on wheat). I want to fruit them. Reading around here this seems to be a suitable protocol:

1) spawn to 50/50 horse poo-coir with some gypsum mixed in, in shallow trays
2) let that colonize and case with 50/50 peat-vermiculite set to pH ~7.5 with CaCO3
3) put in a DIY JCM style chamber to fruit

The only thing I am not sure about is pasteurizing or sterilizing my hose poo coir mix, I see grows with both methods.

Is there any consensus what is best, what do successful tampanensis fruiters do these days?

P

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. The horse poo is optional, I use coir with a little sand. I use a tent but a jcm style tub should do just fine. They like it to be warm and humid with lots of fresh air.

I can't speak to manure handling, I haven't added that to my toolkit yet.

Keep us posted!

They are not a dung species their substrate is mainly grass of some sort
That is why we use wheat rice, bird food, corn stuff like that and then they grow in Coir

Thanks,

I read the thread/discussion on tampanensis nutrition, they possibly decompose lignocellulosic mass for nutrients en use bacterial protein more or less directly.

People have success with horse poo substrates, which is basically lignocellulosic mass with ~5% protein but this might no be optimal.

Maybe I should go for 10-30% poo and the rest coir. Maybe add finely cut hay, straw is difficult to get here.

But still, shall I pasteurize or sterilize the substrate?
