I just sold my PS5 for that exact reason. Spend hundreds on a console, hundreds on games, but you can’t play if you’re not signed in and have an internet connection. They can take away access to games you bought just because they don’t want to support the platform any longer. And forget selling off games you don’t like or get tired of, or loaning a game to your friends.

Fuck Sony.

Noooo, I feel so bad for you. :cryariver:

I don't even have AC at home and we've been hovering around 40 °C (104 °F) for 3 months now. It's really rough... Tomorrow it's going to hit 41 °C (106 °F).

Air out the place at night when the temperature drops, and keep the windows closed as long as it's cooler inside — don't air it out during the day (it's way worse). And if you have tile floors, move your fruiting chambers/jars down to the floor or place them on trays with water — they dissipate heat much better that way.

That's what I do, and I manage to keep the temperature right around 30 °C (86 °F) inside — a degree or two lower in the fruiting chambers.

Damn, hang in there, man.

Hugs

While I hear xbox looks more powerful on paper, I also heard the ps5 will handle gta 6 better. I'm not sure how but if that is a game you want I would look into it and go with ps5. Personally I was always a PS fanboy but Sony is doing some bullshit with going totally digital now. It's so they can control which games you can play and squeeze more money out of players. I miss the days of owning physical copies of games. No nerf updates or patches that ruin games, just pop in and play the game the way it was designed.
Confession: I gave weed up 2 years ago because it increases my anxiety. I still love growing it for my wifey.

They wanna take my physical media because "muh profits?"  Yeah, fuck 'em.  If memory serves, Persona 6 and 4 Revival (the only reasons I'd even consider buying that shitheap console) are comin' to XBox and/or PC day 1, anyway.

Gimme physical media, lemme own my shit, or I'll just leave your ass behind.  Besides, most modern consoles are just locked-down PCs, anyways.  No different from having a Mac, except for playing games instead of sitting there being useless and white like my fat ass.

I do measure occasionally, but yeah, I've learned to just kinda YOLO shit.  No professional experience, but I been cookin' over 20 years, at this point.  Mostly when my parents weren't around because my brother didn't enjoy doin' it as much as I do.

Bout the only things I measure, anymore, are unfamiliar recipes and bread.  Reminds me, I needa feed my sourdough starter.  Dave's gettin' a lil hongry, methinks.

Yeah, had that nearly happen a time or two, as well.  Thankfully, Dave's tough and even in the worst of times, a spoonful or two of liquid wild yeast I got from my booze-makin days is enough to get him nice and happy, again.

Also, I totally YOLO my PF Tek-adjacent cakes.  Just add enough whatever gluten't flour that it's crumbly, but can hold its shape and isn't overly wet or dry.  Hasn't failed me, yet.  Except that one time I didn't grind the red cargo rice fine enough, lol.

Funny how much things have changed then considering Xbox was the first modern day system . meaning like out of  the newer consoles to charge for Xbox Live which demands internet connection to play.

which was necessary in order to play online games It was xbox live or nothing.

This is why I didn't like Xbox in the beginning. Cuz I could care less about online play.
. But I have no clue about any of that stuff anymore

I have a ps5 that plays disc.  And when I buy them. I can play without being online.

And the majority of the PS5 game catalog at least currently you are able to buy the disc and play the complete whole game without having to have any internet connection at all.

Which is a main reason  I bought the disc console and not the digital.  I dont play online with others.

That definitely would suck if all that is changing.

Im not a big gamer at all tho.  And dont keep up with these things. And or how much theve  changed.  In the past and now.    I just like my ps5 so far over the past 3 years.

Yeah, Sony's trying to do away w/ physical media altogether.  Thankfully, they've gotten a FUCKTONNE of pushback and abject mockery.  Also, feel ya, there.  Bout the newest thing I think I've played is either Tears of the Kingdom or DOOM Eternal.

Guys, some of you already know that my lifestyle as a street performer and living on the road in general doesn't allow me to invest in video game consoles (whether handheld or not) or other gadgets, but... I do like video games too.

So I solve it by emulating on my phone. Emulation has really come a long way, seriously. And I'm telling you this after sinking 300 hours into Fallout: New Vegas on an Android Poco F3. I can even run Fallout 4 smoothly on a phone I bought second-hand for €80. Personally, I use Winlator (open-source) + a Bluetooth controller.

With phones running a Snapdragon Gen 1/2/3, you can run most games nowadays. Not to mention PS Vita or Switch emulation (which is getting better and better). And that's without even mentioning classic consoles. It's super convenient and the library is endless.

And no — I don't like games that force you into a subscription. I want my games to be things I install, start, and finish whenever the hell I want. I've got enough addictions as it is... :naughty:

Hugs

I'm a pc gamer primarily, but until I can fix my laptop (have all the parts but not the executive function), I'll be gaming on my steam deck. I have found in the past year since getting into mush cult that my time spent gaming has gone from an average of 20+ hours/week to maybe an hour every other week. Used to have a hardcore gaming addiction and now it's just gone.

Oh shit! Had no idea they remade links awakening. Looks pretty cool, it's fun getting to see a map/scenery reimagined but still feel familiar. Currently fighting the urge to hide in the bathroom at work and crush out a dungeon lol.
Confession, I just realized that rating/scoring posts is a thing here, though I have no idea how to do it. Did see that a couple of yall have said some nice things to me about posts, thank you 🙏

Look, what I'm saying is similar to turning your phone into a Steam Deck. Either way, you can always cast the screen to a TV and connect a Bluetooth keyboard.

I usually go through phases — I stop playing, months go by — until one afternoon I get hooked and bam — I'm completely lost in it until I've had my fill.

But it's great that you've gotten over it. I had an experience with a 'very social' online game and realized it was actually a hook empty of any real content. That's when I promised myself I'd never get dragged into that kind of mess again. For about three years now, I haven't even had any social media. I don't watch YT, I don't follow profiles or channels, I don't watch TV, I don't even read the news. I'm trying to deprogram my thoughts.

I like chess, too. :ohwell:
