I think that the gay would win over the fat, white, perimenopausal vote, if he was more presentable.

They’re more moderate or centrist democrat but they’re both very good communicators and no-nonsense.  Ossoff has a relatively wide range of support even in a right leaning state like Georgia.  Buttigieg… I hate to say it but I don’t know if a gay man can win in a general election.

Buttigieg appears to be a corporatist at heart and pro-isralie.

I don't think Ossef is, and right now, not supporting Zionism is a litmus test.

That said, the point is that conflating being anti Zionist or anti Israel with being antisemetic is wrong.

Buttigieg is weak sauce, literally takes the party's stance and has no takes of his own that's why he failed running for president. Him being gay has nothing to do with it.

Well yeah, he definitely failed to get voters excited the way someone like Bernie did.  Although at the same time I don’t know how Biden was able to get voters to turn out either.  His main platform seemed to be “I’m not Trump”.  That worked in 2020 somehow but I don’t think the same strategy will work in 2028.

And I’m not trying to point to him as an ideal candidate, just someone who seems to be posturing for another run in 2028 based on his frequent speaking appearances.

I would agree that in a democratic primary that being gay isn’t a significant handicap.  I’m not sure about a general election.  I may be wrong about that.  However, I think the argument will be made right up until a gay person wins a presidential election.

I think as of late Buttigieg has shifted his stance on Israel and called them out for their treatment of civilians in Gaza.  As I responded to vicepope, though, I’m not trying to point to him as an ideal candidate and I don’t know if his shift on Israel is because that’s what he believes or if that’s just the direction he sees the wind blowing.

Truth be told, at this point I don’t know who I would consider to be an ideal candidate for the Democratic Party in 2028.  All of the apparent candidates have their flaws.

Ossoff is a very strong communicator and would probably do well in a debate.  He’s flatly denied he has any intention of running for president in 2028 but that’s what many candidates say right up until they announce.  Still, his name keeps being thrown out as a possible contender and I wondered what people thought of him.

And I agree that anti-Zionism and antisemitic are two totally different things.  A significant number of people seem not to understand that view, though (I’m talking generally, not about anyone particular on this forum).

If Buttigieg cant call a genocide a genocide then it shows where his true alignment is.

If he has called it a genocide, kudos, if not, no thanks.

Jon Ossoff has been putting out some excellent clips lately. He knows what he is doing as far as the media atmosphere in 2026. He is a good looking dude, and he is well spoken. To me, he appears to be what centrist Dems think Gavin Newsome is.

He has that charismatic speaking style kind of like Obama, and he has a lot of zinger clips about Trump and whatever. I don't know enough about the guy to vouche for him at all, and I do get this superficial vibe from him that I'm not comfortable with.

Ossoff is very electable, on the surface, though. That's all I can say about him for now, really.

I like Pete Buttigieg as a person, but I wouldn't want him for a president... Also, I agree, I don't think a gay man can win, or even a non-christian... I am skeptical if a woman really could win as well.

I don't think that Clinton and Harris are good enough indicators to say a woman definitely can't win, but I will say I have known quite a few people in my personal life who wouldn't vote for a woman... And a good number of them have been women themselves.

Ossoff isn't a billion puppet married to a billionaire family like Newsom.  He has killed as many people as Newsom nor forever imprison as many people either.

Is it?

Then why did he pretend to be a Christian? He is still going to church on sundays even now (He sleeps through the service of course).

It’s not bullshit at all.

Christian’s love fake Christian’s, they just don’t love to be called out on it. There’s nothing more reassuring than seeing other people faking it to make you feel good about faking it too.

I agree on that point.  I think Clinton and Harris were both fairly weak candidates in that they had a lot of baggage and were seen as establishment democrats so it’s difficult to get an idea how much being women weighed on them.

I of course may be wrong but I think a female Republican stands a better chance of being elected than a female Democrat.  No one on the right will vote for a female democrat but a female republican may be able to win moderate democrat voters depending on messaging.

I suppose it all comes down to independent and swing voters.

To some extent it doesn’t even matter how much Trump pretends to be Christian.  Evangelicals are more than happy to project their supposed values onto him whether he is actively faking them or not.

True... I could have seen Tulsi Gabbard pulling it off, if she hadn't gone full retard and joined the Trump administration. Thank god she showed her true colors early on.

Before Gabbard stepped down from the DNC, he was really going places in the Democratic party.
