Has anyone had a good experience showering while tripping? * 1

I have done it too many times to recall and everytime I tell myself never again and every time I do it again lol.

I hate the experience itself and always seem to get stuck in a loop where I feel "I need to finish this shower properly" and keep going in and out.

Then I'm fucking wet and that's a sensory BS. Tbh I hate having wet hair generally.

Lol. Would love to hear if anyone had a good time on it.

I love showering while on Ayahuasca, it feels amazing. When i take LSD i feel like i absolutely need a shower because the vasoconstriction makes me feel weird and a nice hot shower causes vasodilation which makes me feel a lot better. Usually though i try to get a shower before tripping, but showering on LSD at least is a must to help the bodyload feel better.

usually I use the tub, or a washcloth and a running tap in the sink, but the shower is also a valid shrine for ablutions; it requires respect, and perseverance, as well as a reliable temperature controller.

I'm glad some of you enjoy it! Maybe my issue is I always do it when it gets a bit stressful (I shower sober as an enjoyable thing).

I might shower pre or post trip.
I can hardly get up from where I lay when I'm tripping. I also don't enjoy music or any external stimuli when I trip. I don't like the influence.
Alone, in the dark, no sound.

Oh really interesting about not liking external stimuli. I need a lot of it. Walks, dancing, music. Generally speaking I'm not good at sitting still even when I'm sober though.
I presume space daddy that you take high doses?

Yes, important details.

Higher mushroom dose and Im gone. which is my usual.

When I've dosed shrooms low or on LSD then yes, very energetic and love all stimuli. Internal and external.

I managed to shower and shave on 2 tabs of LSD. But I don't remember there being anything different about it. Does it feel different on mushrooms?

That's impressive.

It just feels really intense. Tbh the issue for me is getting out of the shower. It's being wet, cold, and unable to figure out how to dry myself. It's funny I had this issue as a kid. Up til about age 8 my mum had to turn the shower on for me and dry me afterwards (lo and behold turns out I'm autistic lol). I think it's probably an autistic/ reverting to childhood thing for me

Having showered under both amanitas and psilocybin, I can confirm serotonergic psychedelics amp up the shower experience much more than gabaergics.

It seems to invert my sense of self in such a way that I can talk to myself, and take care of myself to the extent I can another human. I don't know why I hate myself so fucking much when sober, I even have a hard time showering when I'm really depressed, like I don't deserve to feel clean or good. This effect is so potent with psilocybin I would rather bath even though it wastes water. Mescaline and water is also amazing, but it's just not shrooms..

I've been pretty bummed after finding out I can't shower on a particular trip for whatever reason..

Showering during my trips has become ritual. 

I like to shower about 30min - 1hr into the come-up, end up laying on the bathtub floor with shower running / fill the bath at that point. 

Then, either when the hot water starts to run out or the bath water cools down after laying in it a while, I get out and dry off (feels weird but refreshing).  I generally snap-out-of-it when I notice it’s a little chilly. 

Proceed to the living room, pick out a record, and hop directly under fresh sheets/blankets and have an amazing psychedelic peak for the next 2-4hr depending on substance.  The cleanliness of my body and environment all adds a cozy spin to the experience.

It’s a routine that I find extreme pleasure in and, ultimately, I feel like showering fully cleanses me physically in preparation for the rest of the journey.

I do enjoy the ritual of showers and bathing when sober.
Maybe I can try to be more intentional with it as part of a trip.

I could see how ending up in the shower on a whim when you're tripping super hard could be total sensory overload, especially if one is on the spectrum or similar. I have my own neuroses around tactile situations. Done thoughtfully and somewhat orchestrated and the shower can be a beautiful experience.  I get my best singing done in the shower with a brain full of psilocybin

I sometimes do this during the come up to get past the come up anxiety. It varies for me sometimes it is great and sometimes I’m just happier to be done with it. Last time I remember being in the shower and coming up and I got so caught up in my thoughts it got to the point where it was like I just existed in the shower, like I lost track of the fact that I could simply leave and be somewhere else entirely and then once I finally got out it was like such a relief to go lay down. But that was an odd one, I’ve had plenty of much nicer times, sometimes I’ll get closed eye visuals with the water running down my head and it’s a great time.

Oh yes I have had one good time in a shower actually was super sparkly.

Lol @ the whole forgetting you can get out of the shower.

My last trip I walked over to this seat and it felt pretty haunted. I sat and cried and forgot I could just leave lol

I had a cool experience with quite a light dose of mushrooms - after some yoga I took a shower and as I put the water over my head and closed my eyes I had a vision of a purple lotus flower with countless petals blooming outward from the centre. :rose:
