TOOL while tripping
    #1705066 - 07/11/03 03:37 AM (21 years, 15 days ago)

I know if posted this in the music and art forum but i think more ppl will answer here.
I really enjoy tools music but i have never tried listening to them while tripping. I have heard from many that it can be bad trip inducing, but i guess it depends on the person. Also, everyone should checkout their video for parabola, its 10 mins long and its crazy. It starts out kind of dark and evil but the end is insane! What have been your experiences while tripping and listening to Tool?

I used to think Tool would be too aggressive-sounding to trip to, but when I listened to Lateralus during my last trip, it complemented the trip perfectly. I find that there actually is an aggressive element to my trips, not in an outwardly violent way, but in the sense that I have a feeling of wanting to jump out of my body.

I thought the exact same thing. I put on lateralus on headphones right at the peak of my last trip and it was awesome. I sat there in the dark with my eyes closed watching the visuals and the music seemed to drive the visuals in a very good way. Tool almost seems like its meant for tripping, each song is epic. They make a kind of texture and a kind of driving story with each song. I highly recommend it.

Definitely worth it. It's not completely happy and blissful, but rather a rollercoaster through different emotions (especially on Lateralus). One moment they'll be churning along with some good old heaviness and then it'll kick into a Pink Floyd blissful moment, and then back again. It's pretty intense, and worth it if you can handle a wee bit of intensity in your trips.

I think MSI is weak compared to Mr Bungle - Disco Volante. That's just too crazy and creepy for words to explain.

mr.Bungle made one of my acid trips seem REALLY WEIRD and the best part of that trip was listening to TOOL hehehehe

I remember seeing all this steam over some water and we stoped the car and chilled there for awhile thinking we found such a cool spot but what we had found was sewage water, thats were the steam came from, still a cool place

best part is that some kid that never did Acid before had a "bit" of a rough time thinking people were talking about him etc cops everywhere blah blah blah.........long story short ALL OF US....him included had a great trip and he became a buddist true story

I've never really listened to Tool while tripping, but I am a huge fan and Lateralus is my favorite album of all time. Tool is the greatest band on the planet. I can't even imagine what it would be like watching them play Disposition/Reflection/Triad live (the best performance I've seen live) while on shrooms.

TOOL owns every other band <(.)> thats it

tool also changed my life, opened my eyes, ears, and mind.

i can never repay them.

since i started listening way back in junior high, wow.

as fur trippin.. again the eye <(.)> i was actually inside of a red sand sculpture of the emotion in the music that morphed around me as i walked through it. yeah. it was that good.

I listened to 'Tool - The Grudge' on my 2nd shroom trip and it showed me how great music can be while tripping. It was just so amazingly intense, I was rocking out hard. That's my most memorable moment of any trip so far...it was mind blowing.

The Grudge is a mind-blowing song with or without drugs.
