First time = No trip??

Hi, I have a question.. just yesterday I bought an 1/8 of mushrooms.. I had it all planned out.. had my blacklite going, had the Dark Side of the Moon playing, etc. etc. All the shit you want to experience the trip.. this was my first time trying shrooms so I was excited. Anyway, an 1/8 I bought.. at around 11 I ate 2 stems and 2 caps just hoping they would kick in.. an hour later, I started feeling kinda giggly and a stoney-type feeling occured.. So anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up eating the whole 1/8 but nothing really serious happened.. No visuals, no colors, no nothing.. I'm just wondering if it was me, or the shrooms.. I mean, it could have been a bad batch or something.. (I know they weren't bogus because I've been buying good bud off these people for a long time) So, please.. just give me your feedback on this... thanks.

Here's why you didn't trip hard...

First of all, you didn't eat the eigth all at the same time. You ate a bit at first, felt it, and then ate the rest. Basically, you wasted the mushrooms that you ate after you ate the 2 stems+caps. They didn't "kick in". Don't ask me why, but this happens. So next time, eat it all at the same time.

Second, maybe you're one of those person's who need more to trip. Afterall, 1/8 isn't that much. Maybe you should up the antee. (sp?)

Third, did you do any other drugs? I find that when I do shrooms and smoke weed, I can't feel the shrooms hardly at all. This is kind of a good thing for me because if I ever eat too many shrooms and I don't like the trip, then I can smoke some weed to get rid of the trip...

ahem...that's bullshit, you can eat all the mushies you want during the trip, and they'll kick in.
the matter changes if the trip is gone, so you've built tolerance.
you can trip for the time you want eating boost doses every 2-3 hours.

Well that's what I've heard, and if I eat 2g's and then an hour later eat another 2g's, it wont do much to me...

My experience is that unless the mushrooms are pretty strong, one eighth will just give me the giggly, drunk/stoned feeling, with moderate visuals, but nothing great. My suggestion would be to eat a little more next time, and try doing it at all at once, rather than spread, because in my experience, you will have a considerably less effect if you space them out than if you were to eat them all at once.

Sounds to me like you need to eat some more of them, they are moderate shrooms.

Cool, thanks a lot guys, really appreciate it.. Tomorrow's Friday, which means I get payed, which means I'll have to pick up an 1/8 and just eat it all up in one sitting and not even think about it.. then it should hit. I think one other reason why I didn't trip off that 1/8 is because I kept thinking I wasn't.. all in my head I guess.. Oh well, wish me luck THIS time, and thanks again..

Other tips: fast for at least 8 hours before doing the shrooms (juices OK, but no solid food). Instead of just gnawing them down, grind them up pretty fine & make tea out of them: pour boiling water & a bit of lemon juice over the crumbled shrooms, steep for 3-5 minutes, then gulp the whole thing down dregs & all. If that doesn't get you good level 2 trip (at least) then those are some lame-ass shrooms.
