Everyone, please forgive my literary lethargy. I do try. I will read them if it's not too many. If I spot something that I may be able to comment on, I'll go back to the start of the idea then read intently.

Im not telling anyone to compare their suffering to the sufferings of various people throughout history, but I am kindof just saying that even tho suffering is subjectively experienced, HOWEVER we can all agree that living in the Roman Empire in the first centuries hiding in underground Lithurgical caves, singing hymns was LEVELS harder and more hardcore than basically anything we can imagine today, I often think of the Early Church Fathers and their lives whenever I start feeling sorry for myself, and honestly i've read so much about early Saints this last year that Im now kindof immune to stuff that used to really bother me just 2 years ago, its weird how that works. :bongload:



And these people were not 70IQ neanderthals, crazy-mentally derranged psychos, they were highly educated many of them, influential, some very rich, none of them denied what they had wittnessed and experienced, I cant even fathom the size of the balls on these humans, makes me just hide my face in shame whenever I starts having delusions that my life is hard lol :lol::popcorn:

Im glad if it can give anyone an interesting perspective, I thought of you actually when I wrote the post, reading some of your posts you remind me a little of one of my cousins and one of my friends, anyhow here's a completely diffrent version of kind of the same topic, namely suffering.


This is an authentic "luger-type" from the 1940's that I have, a friend gave it to me he found it among old stuff from relatives. It's a Swedish made version of the German Luger, this one is actually a copy of the Finnish cope version of the classical Luger P08 (perhaps the most iconic WW2 firearms)

This specific model is called "Lahti M40"

Ethically Im Serbian, I dont even know how many distant relatives that perished in the "Jasenovac" death camp in Croatia in the 1940's, I just know that Jasenovac is dubbed among historians as "The deadlist Concentration Camp in the entire Europe in WW2" German SS Officers and Auschwitz designers tried shutting Jasenovac down and deeming it "utterly inhumane" (imagine the Architects of Auscwits saying this with a straight face)



In Serbia to this day we have certain towns/geographical areas that have huge signs on the road saying "If you have a german passport DO NOT EVER pass through the line drawn in the street BEWARE DO NOT ENTER HERE speaking German" due to extremely effed up scenarios caused by the Nazi's.


We dont need to go back to third century AD in Rome to get a glimpse of something that will make us appreciate our lives a little more, idk personally ive never fired a real gun dont know anyone who has one (illegally) im scared to death of the experiences Ive had with bad people with guns, but today this old WW2 hadgun is sometimes like my "stress ball" I like handling it and enjoy the weight of it" :shrug:

The Ustashas were a devilish lot. The "breathing grave" is haunting. The camp you mention was one of the most hellish places on earth at the time. Knowing that the same organization that committed the atrocities at Riga and Baba Yar via the Einsatzgruppen, as well as allowed a unit such as the Dirlewanger Brigade to exist would find the actions of the Ustasha and the events taking place at Jasenovac to be "too much" speaks deafening volumes. No matter how painful it is to remember these events, it is imperative that we do not forget they happened.

Here's a picture of some bad bad crabs, been collecting three different invasive species today and they're cute as fuck, something that can't be said of the invasive monkey H sapiens. With the exception of a few outliers, lol

I personally don't know about crab reproduction, but perhaps we could all become super knowledgable about it  O F F L I N E    and it could be a sort of tell when all the synths are running a fuck on

Just a heads up I invited chiron and mateja here from the quick question thread.  Chiron seems to be really getting into it with some of our community members.  I believe it's beyond the capacity of the quick question Arena.  He seems to think it's OK to demand information from our members and then spit venom when those answers don't satisfy. I think that stems from his complete misunderstandint of what the shroomery is and he operates under the misconception.  E.g this isnt reddit,  nor facebook.  This isnt a database, a search engine nor social media.  We are a community and his lack of decorum reflects the misunderstanding.

I invited mateja as well. It seems like there needs to be a distinction between the aforementioned practice of interrogation and demanding information and politely messaging members simple questions regarding their techniques which is what it seems like he meant when he told chiron to "interrogate and demand" information from our members. 

Im totally ok with polite questions.  I get a few in my inbox every week and i do my best to respond.  I do miss a few. 

Seems like a pretty simple thing to clear up without making a mess in quick questions. It would be cool it chiron could course-correct and become a productive member of the community so i figure we shouls try to help him
See the light if possible.

I understand Chiron is hungry for information and wants to be as successful as possible. I don't mind answering questions, even if those answers fall on deaf ears.

For all budding mush heads who are hungry for information, besides the obvious of direct interaction with fungi & the same sort of community knowledge sharing we get up to around here, I highly recommend supplementing your online R & D sessions with similar efforts put toward reading current books, for example: '21st century guidebook to fungi' by Moore, Robson & Trinci.


It goes into a whole lot more detail than I could currently understand, but even since getting it there are parts who make a lot more sense than they did on first approach. It's aspirational reading in that respect. And gets the cogs turning.



At the same time, there are large portions that are immediately accessible.
Even the stuff that takes reading and re reading is so worth it when you look at an aspect of your grow, or the fungal world around us at large and the penny drops.

We need to be bringing an expanded to knowledge to the community I think, and drive curiosity that is equal in parts to our own investigative efforts.

I don't use AI, because I really dislike it, with the exception of saying to a chatbot 'connect me to a human, garbage'. So yeah. I only use DuckDuckGo because it enables me to turn off the useless and wasteful AI function. There's probably more advantages to it but my digital incompetence doesn't allow for a broad view on tech.

Also I only purposefully hurt animals if they get personal, ie mosquitos, the occasional gadfly, ticks and humans. So no, didn't spay the poor buggers (which would require smaller hands than mine anyway, lol). As said, cute as fuck, and quite contrary to the local crab species they didn't even pinch me. I know it is a very unpopular opinion, but I think humans / human interventions / human indrustrial by-products are the main problem in every ecosystem I've been able to carefully observe. So until we start cleaning up that species...

(Which I would also decline, zero issues with stomping down the average neonazi or guys who harass women at abortion clinics, etc. But for the rest... The average human might be an ecological disaster, but if you get to know them they're not that far from a little crabby trying to make it to the next high tide. Just without the cuteness).

Anyway Fid, more power to you, it would feel like pulling on a dead horse to me, but well, I lack your awesomeness.
