Making a gasket for an AA pressure cooker

Ok I got this AA cooker from a yard sale about 2 months ago.... It will not hold a seal on the one part of the bowl....
Do you think I could make a gasket from say RVT gasket sealer over the part that is not holding the seal?
I am about to scrap it and this is a last ditch effort.... Comments?

All American PC's don't have gaskets. They use a "metal-to-metal" seal.
Edited to add: When it comes to pressure cookers, I wouldn't make homemade modifications unless danger is your middle name.

Let me re-word this
I got an AA from a yard sale for $8
It has a ding on the lip of the bowl and will not hold a mettle to mettle seal. I have sanded it and lubed it over 100x and still leaks....
This is my last idea....

Phone up the manufacturers and ask what can be done.

If it's a ding, I'd suggest filling it in with JB Weld, and then after it cures for a day or two, sand it down to match the rest of the lip. RR

Since it is a older model (pressure release valve) they said I would need to replace the bowl.... $180 price tag....

RR’s pretty much got it. JB Weld is good stuff although I would use high temp Lab Metal, only because I have it around.
The sanding could be a little tricky depending on how much JB you have to work over. I would suggest a gentle filing first then some 800 or finer wet and dry. Note the mating face is not a straight surface but has a slight ball socket grind. ( at least on my OLD work horses. Mine are all 30 to 50+ years in age )
Give the PC a run to check for steam leaks. would lubricate the mating surfaces with Grape Seed oil just for testing purposes. Lecithin spray might also work.
If you got a leak I would lap the lid to bowl a few strokes. Depending on severity of leak some Clover or other Fine lapping compound could be used followed by some White Diamond if needed.
Put a small amount of compound on the damaged area and maybe some cooking oil around the rest of the mating surface for lubrication. Rock the lid laterally ( up and down ) and move back and forth radially as well. A dozen licks or so should do it.
Clean surfaces and re test.
Good luck.

Ok I added and sanded some JB Weld, I still have leaks but I must say out of a possible 100% I am at 90%.
I think that a few more spots to fix but it is working!!!
I just like to update and thanks RR for his help

Another option would be to take it to a machine shop and have them mill it flat. Not sure if it'd be worth the price though.

also, you should load up the seal heavily with vasoline. This will help seal the metal.

I have tried both machine shopping and heavy
I am waiting for my second try to cure but it seems to be working sooo good.
All in all I am getting a AA 921 for $12 after small expenses, not bad
