I think manure's gotta be way more nutritious than coir. It's got a lot of organic matter left in it.

Agar has this thread where he made spawn with the only nutrition being manure. A lot of outdated methods in that thread but it proves the principle. It's possible to make mushrooms on manure alone surely, if you sterilized it and started with agar.

Yes I believe manure has nutes, mostly the partially digested grasses and grains that make up their diet. Now compared to actual grain spawn, manure is practically worthless in comparison. But it still has enough that we need to pasteurize it and protect those nutes when we spawn.

RR was definitely being sarcastic (single quotes), the grain spawn has more nutrients than manure and coco combined.

Most of the benefit of Manure is it's free, and fruit morphology is usually subtly different.  Otherwise, no it doesn't affect yield with most species.

Unless you're a farmer, the only people using manure are people who like poo. There is no other reasonable explanation.

Absolutely, manure is great for compost piles and gardening, or growing Pans, but that can be skipped too, using the word poo always makes me laugh, it's just not in me to say it, but makes me feel like I'm 10... again.

For pans I could see going to the trouble for poo. But not for cubes.

Agreed, I've grown cubes with manure, for the sake of doing it and it's free, and pasteurization isn't difficult, but weighing a brick and multiplying by 5 is just too easy.
