I had been planning a trip today but due to a variety of factors (mainly a bad mood for the past 2 weeks that is fully my own fault) I have decided to delay. Not sure if it's just me chickening out or if it's really the right call, but I have a sense the trip would become solely focused on why I've had such a shitty attitude recently. So I would prefer to work that through sober first so I can approach the experience with a clear head and reverence in the future.

Anyway on to my real question - I've had this oz of golden teachers that I harvested in March and still haven't touched yet. It has been a busy year and the right time simply hasn't come yet. The fruits are all cracker dry in a vacuum sealed glass mason jar with a desiccant pack inside.

How long do you reasonably think these will last (potency plus just being safe to eat)? I have seen many storage posts but opinions vary. I have seen anything from less than one year to 5+ years. Thoughts based on your guys's experience?

or try to top-fruit that out of the bag without breaking it up.  What did you plan to fruit that in anyway? got a tub?  It won't give a great yield but you could take a clone from what fruits and do it better next time  (if you use agar)

You took the time to make these. Bacteria or not, I say send it 1:1 and see what happens. As long as it isn’t moldy when you cut it open, which is super possible.

...Well this is as far as I can get to without fkin it up:sad: so instead of that I come to you for guidance. My head says LITFA but my heart bleeds for the potential shrooms I may be destroying by doing just that and I dont wanna lose another tub. This is why I got into growing gourmets. You should give it a try if you haven’t. King Oyster and Lion’s Mane are easy and delicious.

Yea I plan too but it’s too hot right now and from what I’ve heard you need cooler temps for gourmets right?

Is that mp tape on all the holes? Sub looks thin, what ratio did you do, and was it spawned 10 days ago?

1 quart spawn 3 quart sub , yes its micropore and it was done on 7-31-26..., it definitely is thin.

I would take the tape off, looks like alot of condensation, but I am also a noob. Also uncover it and take a better picture.

My old monotub broke so I need to make a new one. The old one used the tek that involved 5 holes in the short ends kind of in a W pattern, and three holes along the longer sides lower down in a row. I thought this worked really well but can't remember the specifics of spacing and hole size.

Anybody know what monotub tek I'm thinking of?

Growing in 32qt ez dialed tubs. I've been consistently getting disappointing first flushes. Dense pinsets that end up stalling early on, only a handful with broken veils. Also lots of side pins no matter what i do.

Any tips on how to prevent this? I do a semi casing layer, compress the substrate a decent amount and make sure its even, and mist the coir heavily afterwards. pretty sure its not due to sub:spawn ratios or excess/lack of FAE. Maybe too much moisture/humidity/hydration?

Try running it with the lid looser just to be sure on the fae. Maybe mist slightly less. From my experience so far, low fae will make anything move slow.  If you're sure it's not that though, can you be absolutely positive you're getting clean culture into your grain? Does it have a smell of anything other than mushrooms?

Pink oysters like it pretty hot. They do well in my Martha in the garage in the summer, but the highs are generally in the 80s here unless we get some crazy heat wave, so your mileage may vary.

By the time you get something ready to fruit, though, it may be cooler.
