I'm super paranoid about the spawn, it's been 1 year and half without results, I've not been able to get something to fruit for that long. I grew only APE before and managed to grow A LOT of healthy tubs.

But then I moved and upgraded to an industrial sterilizer and a flow hood, both tested by myself with a bio indicator in the autoclave and by leaving open agar plates in front of the flowhood.

Right now I am still telling myself that it's okay to make mistakes and that I just need to learn from them and to focus on the things to improve but I'm starting to lose that mental balance. I decided to move away from APEs because I thought that my culture maybe got a virus or the senescence was too heavy (the culture looked weak and I didn't have any backups). I recently grew ochras and got heavily bacterial tubs, so it means it has nothing to do with the strain of APE I had.

Sorry for venting this all out, I just hope to not look dumb for worrying about a little condensation near that agar, I'm not familiar with pan spawn and how it should look like and what details to pay attention to.

Jars still looks good from here. With pans bacterial spawn is the end of the line in my experience. Most of the time I do 2 break&shake with pans and if they don't recover fast and look almost perfect I know it would shit the bed before I ever reach fruits and can skip making substrate for those jars.

A couple of excellent pan growers don't want to use oats, and I have to agree as long as there is other options available. I have used oats for pans, cubes and ochra with success, but I feel everything went a lot smoother as soon as I switched to wheat, so if you keep ending up with bacterial spawn, try switching grains, even for a couple of grows to see if it changes anything.

And dude, right now I was hoping to have several pan trays pinning and making my day, but a lot of my AIO bags look terrible, we've had a bad heat wave and that has made my grain jars dry out, condensation from hell in my bags and mycelium on plates are stressed out because of it, so failure is a part of this hobby for me as well.

So I'll do more transfers, prep more grain, practice my sterile technique and keep moving, that is the only option Do you have enough fruits or are you out of medicin if the jars don't make it? I ask because every new species I try to fruit always get me a little stressed and I either rush things or fuck up

Sorry to hear about your struggle to get clean spawn, that sucks and don't feel bad about sharing bud, the only thing I read was that you care about your work, you're not afraid to ask for help and that you really want to do this right

Just sent a few trays of Eungai the other day. Followed Fahsther’s Tek with his slightly updated version of Mojave’s CV+. The grain was clean, so if it goes sideways, it’s all my technique. 🤣😂
