Planning on making a variety of pickles this weekend, as well as some spring rolls for the freezer.

Cult related - found out one of my best friends is about to have basically unlimited access to horse poo, so many outdoor exotic beds will be coming soon.

Well tonight I PC some jars and either tomorrow or Sunday I inoculate with lions mane and oyster lc.  I finally got my martha dialed in.

Tomorrow im spending time with my mom. Gonna get fried chicken for lunch!

I confess, I want to quit my day job and buy a few acres of land and start a mushroom farm.

I learned the hard way a month ago that you should grease the sealing ring and other bits in your pressure cooker or they disintegrate and pressure can't build up. Then you have to order parts.

I learned a month before that, that a cheaper PC must be babied or it will warp and now your cheap PC turned into an expensive large pot. Could have been my stove top as well, I want to get a heating element coil I can just plug in.

I also learned that if you soad grains for 28 hours they actually smell like feces even if there's no sprouts yet. Dunno if it's still good to use but dang does it reak like you shouldn't use it.

I wake up half the time immediately thinking about a mushroom project. Usually I have only obsessed about TV shows or video games so having this hobby makes me feel accomplished.

Im going to be working on taking clones now, I had a shitake plin and I managed to clone it to 3 different agar cups and they have since gone to grain. So now I want to do more clones.



For those of you "falling behind" or whatever variation you have of not keeping up to your own standards or cultivation... i see you all as powerhouses of knowledge and experience. For fucks sake we arent at work competing for pay and benefits. I would say the universe is directing you to be where you need to be and do what you need to do. The most important thing is take care of your health. Eat well and rest well!


No matter what I do I always wake up around 5am.  And so this morning I listen to the birds.

I forgot to grab pictures before I shook, but my first attempt at LI went really well!

I inoculated some rye with Ochra and the jars are 60% colonized in 7 days! No skipped grains or excess moisture, so I think I nailed it on the clean innoculant and sterile work.

Still, I think I'm going to treat the bottles as single use. I'm going to put some LI back on agar to see what grows, but I really don't feel comfortable trusting a bottle that has been opened so many times with another round of grain. If I had a FFU or LFH I might feel differently, but for now I just have a SAB.

I'll post pics in a couple days after the jars start to recover.

Good morning my beautiful cultists! It's bacon cooking time here, bacon-egg-cheese sandos coming right up!

Pickling time starts after a run to the store. I got a new mandoline slicer that I'm stoked to take on it's maiden voyage. Yucatan style citrus pickled onions, anyone?

(And yes, I can usually get Seville/sour oranges here....)

Top o the mornin! Started the day with a .8 down the hatch and went for a stroll on the ol skateboard while the sun came up. Home now and ripping bowls in the back yard absorbing some rays. Hope you all are having a good day as well and for those who arenโ€™t I hope it gets better

A mushroom supply shop shipped me broken plates because they didn't cushion the package, the owner apologized and told me they'll send 10 more. They're here, individually packed like god intended :rofl:


If these contam after pouring I know the employee who had to do this coughed into every single one...

Leaving on Monday to go off grid for the summer. I don't think Ill be able to visit here at all except in spirit.

Whew! What a whirlwind the last few months have been. Fuck working, man. Ya know, when Eve ate that apple she really fucked a lot of shit up.

I confess Iโ€™ve been ignoring all things mushroom for too long but Iโ€™m prepping some grain for the first time in a while. I think Iโ€™m going old school on this one with a B+ grow. Why the fuck not, right? My B+ kinda kicks ass, actually. Anyway, weโ€™ll see what happens.
