First time using my new SAB with viewing window and stainless steel table. The viewing window with a bright portable light in a dark room with a tall stool is amazing. I can finally see my work extremely well and it helps so much. Of course I already managed to drop and scratch the window. But heck, the viewing window and stainless steel table were so worth it and is the most comfortable I have been working.

This "buffet." Got it for free from my sister in law. She's baddass, gave me my pressure cooker for free too.

I can fit all my tools and supplies in that or next to it. Previously I was doing sab work on the dinner table, supplies in a closet, sab in the basement... now it's one spot for everything.

I have the same thing.  What I did: I used a scraper tool (like a putty knife) and heated it using my butane torch.  Melted the centre section out, as opposed to cutting.

I cracked the first tub lol. This is the second. To prevent cracking I used blue masking tape and taped the living fuck out of the entire section to be cut, inside and out. I used a jigsaw to cut it with a fine blade, and also drilled holes in each corner of the cut so I could get the blade in and make straight cuts to each corner. Worked great.

I look forward to checking that out. Interested in running some oysters that I've foraged. First attempts as blocks didn't go too well, but I know I have a fruitable culture now at least, and a little spawn ready for the next attempt

Just bought some new tools from Home Depots:



The Tack Hammer, or what Im dubbing the Precision Hammer, is my favorite tool yet. I just used it with one of the machine HEX bolts to make holes in new 1/2 Pint jar lids and it works so well! :yesnod:

The 1/4" x 2" Course Thread Machine HEX bolts (2 Stainless steel and 2 Zinc) are a little too big for hole-making but they are definitely close enough for me :thumbup:

The black PEX fittings I am using for slightly propping up the lid on my new Mini HD Watertub. They work pretty well! I might get some mini zipties and a small drill bit to secure it to the lid. Not sure yet. Right now, they are resting on the outer edges of the lid-lip surface. And that 1/2" PEX couple is also my alternative option for propping up that Mini Tub Lid.

The yellow lid underneath is my second Mini HD Watertub. They ran out of white lids at the store so I got a yellow lid. Still looks pretty cool with the clear mini-tub. :thumbup:

Finally upgraded to plastic lids with thick SFD encased in silicone :biggrin: My technique making them really got better as I got going :lol: only one that got semi clogged.

Dont make my mistake, use minimum 2.5mm wire. Ill be getting 6mm wire soon and setting it back up (safely this time)




I run a 1000w Induction coil too. The coil they sent was copper tubing that you hook up water to your fridge. Too big. Not heating up bolts. I run a 14AWG(2.5mm) now. Tried a 16AWG first but it melted.

Standalone induction hub for running the Presto. I was running it on my kitchen stove but it was overloading the hob.



Plus a new 9mm utility knife which I like for harvesting.
