Hey Thurman, yes it's just for pasteurization. All that glass looks like it was a lot of work... and looks like you have a lot of work to do in the future!

Yeah...I overestimated how much agar I needed to make up, so I wound up making more plates than intended. Oh well - stocked up!

My new drying utensil. I used to spread out a large cheesecloth in the bathtub or in the garden to dry my grains, but this is much more practical.

I needed more shoeboxes and went to get more but they changed the style. I gotta say, it's like somebody said "let's make these perfect dimensions to grow mushrooms out of":mushroom2:

Haven't officially harvested any mushrooms out of them, but so far so good!

These are so great for drying grain. Getting one of these really helped keep the peace in my house. No more grain drying on the kitchen counter!

I jerry rigged together a 1000W induction coil with an automotive grade switch and a 480W 24V 20A power supply and made this beast. heated up my box cutter real fast, so fast the wires i used started melting :haha:

Dont make my mistake, use minimum 2.5mm wire. Ill be getting 6mm wire soon and setting it back up (safely this time)

Here’s my newest favorite tool for mush cult, listed on β€˜zon as β€œ 6 Inch Double Curved Scissors” - super great for cutting caps off of standing stipes when making spore prints. No matter how tightly packed a tub may be, these make it easy to cut the stipes very close to the gills so the caps sit nicely on the foil. Took me awhile to fully appreciate the design, but they’re my go to now!

I posted a while back about my melted 60mm plates that were supposed to be the autoclavable ones. I finally picked up a new batch. I forgot how little agar it takes to fill a 60mm plate so I probably poured more than I intended.

I present, my greatest creation! :awepreciation:

The 3D Spore Vial Working Stand (3D SVWS) 2026 Edition:

I first created a digital 3D model in TinkerCAD then 3D printed the model using a Creality Ender 3 V2 using White Meta-PLA Filament. Repetier Host for slicing the 3D model. Took about 8 hours to print! 😳

It holds one 15mL glass vial.

Im planning on printing another one with a slight wider column stand for the vial cap, once I buy more white PLA filament (maybe 2.0? Maybe more Meta-PLA?). Also, there is a flaw near the center of the stand because there was a tangle in my filament while I was printing that I caught a little too late (whoops!). But after using it tonight (for the second time ever), Im am very pleased on how it functions when Im making a spore syringe. This is the tool I really needed for myself.

Invention Concept: Successful :nerd:
