Make some up keep it in the fridge so it won't go bad on you then put a little in a petri near their hive when needed. Keeps it fresh and should be shallow enough to prevent casualties

Might be fine for that species. A lot of the exotics get brown colors in the mycelium.  I don't see a battle going on so my guess is it's just some melanin or pigment the myc is producing with age...

Honestly, these are some gorgeous shots of what is most likely trichoderma.  It should go green quite soon.

I'd suggest paying particular attention to the whiteness, the texture, and the circular growth pattern.  So, you can identify it more easily in the future.  Because there are some less aggressive green molds you can let ride a little bit and still get a half decent flush.  Or even save by burying outside.

Trichoderma is far more aggressive though.  I generally compost when I see it unless a flush is well underway.

Hey folks had a jar with a few iffy wet grains. Shook it up and it seems to be recovering slow. This is about 35 hours later. Doesn't smell like anything through the filter. What do we think I should do with it?

She actually looks really good in my honest opinion, everything seems fine.
HOWEVER which species is this exactly if I may ask though, that matters a lot, but it looks good in my opinion.
Those are oats so it makes me think not average cubes species.
Also being able to smell through the lid-filter whoa is that new? honest question not being a smart-butt :lol:

It's b+ so totally average cubes. I'm not a fancy dude. As for the smell it's just polyfill in the lid so if something was way off I thought it might be a clue. Not sure if people can or not honestly but I know rancid shit stinks so it was worth a check I figured

So I'm ready to fruit. Three cakes of blue oyster are sitting in the fridge dunked overnight. I'm gonna set the cakes on these jars with perlite filled to the brim of the jars. Perlite need to be wetted? Or we good. If I start mastering PF tek I feel like a lot of money is gonna go to perlite

Hello. My first time growing golden teachers. I think i left them to grow too long. Can I still dry them and grind for capsules or tea even with all the spores on everything?

This variety consistently does this to me. Fairy rings a shoe box and aborts half way thru a flush. It pins where the coir is almost muddy, I think it’s fae not water though.



I think they abort due to high co2 and the edges of the unmodified shoebox are the only spot getting evaporation.
I was running it lid on 24/7 they’re cheap and lids fit very loosely anyway. Some of them I did even flip the lid and noticed no difference but there’s 0 airflow in the environment they’re in. Jars in same room also stalled consistently or at least slowed growth. When I say room I really mean  large closet with door slightly open😂

I’ve had issues dialing shoeboxes in before though I think I’m gonna try to make a switch or at least try dub tubs. Unmodified just ain’t enough fae for my case I guess.

Anyone have any input? Maybe I’m wrong and I’m all ears on how to fix this. It is only this variety though. Other varieties are doing okay. I think unmodified shoeboxes might be limiting me but they’re at least fully flushing.

Had a shoebox that got the green. Dishsoap and water washing enough before a new spawn or should I do more?
