I know at least one big trump supporter who is a little shaken about due process being thrown out the window.....the rest seem to love it. What I love is when you tell them that the next president can turn around and do the same shit to whoever they want.

thats a little bit of a mask-off moment for them. they're not worried about that because they have every intention of retaining power by dismantling democracy and breaking the law faster than they can be held to account.

conservative media and politicians have spent 30 years lying to their audience to such extent that modern American conservatives are whipped sheep at this point. they'll bend themselves in pretzels trying to defend contradictory statements from their dementia-addled fascist cult leader and everything has become team sports. they've proven over and over a willingness to vote and act against their own self interests if they think doing so will piss off or hurt a political group that wants nothing but a better life for them and everyone else. they have no ideology and no platform. everything is an opposition point or designed to stick it to some nebulous boogeyman. zero personal responsibility or responsibility as a group.

obama broke their brains. a black president that was widely loved was just more than racist conservatives could handle.

I very much disagree. As there are more voters for Trump either time he won then Obama got either time. Means thar 2012 shouldn't have been an Obama victory. These people didn't just spring out of nowhere. Generally the same voter based hasn't changed.

I'm not sure why you'd lie about this when every person reading your comments can easily fact check them. in 2012 obama/biden received 65,915,795 votes, whereas trump received only 62,984,828 in 2016 (to hillary's 65,853,514)

this is despite there being an additional 4.5 million registered voters in 2016.

Then where is your racist backlash your talk about in 2016. Your argument is that the reason trump supporters are in full force is because there racist brains couldn't stop short circuited after Obama was elected.

60,933,504 was Mitt Romney vote total in 2012 . When did your racist voter's magically pop out at after 2012.

are you a heavy drinker? it's really hard to make sense of damn near anything you say. it's not just a language barrier. the things you say often do not pass a simple logical test.

since Obama's presidency the American right has wholly embraced undemocratic processes and outright fascism. everything the American right has going on right now was born from the tea party and birther "movements" (a conspiracy that trump himself pushed hard).

Your missing the logic gap. Racist and fascist don't just appear out of no where. Where did all the fascist come from? The elderly are always more racist, but lots are died in that time. Your obama argument doesn't hold up.

sure sounds like you're trying to blame anyone other than the fascists for the fascists existing. thats weird.

and you're right on one small point - they didn't appear out of nowhere, but two terms of a wildly popular black president, passage of a semblance of universal healthcare, and legalization of gay marriage was enough to make them decide that maybe democracy ain't it.

America elected one of it's best presidents in modern history and the American right responded by elevating *donald trump* and supporting absolutely every vile thing he says or does.

your response to a pretty mild take has some shades of "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

I don’t think the right elevated Trump as much as he steam rolled them into submission with populist nonsense. Luckily for them, he’s a retard, and they get to use him as they seen fit. Splitting hairs in the scheme of things but there’s no need to see it as Trump being the chosen one. His fascist tendencies are just a feature of a guy too stupid to understand the world he lives in. That doesn’t however diminish the obvious negatives of his political participation.

they embraced him because they perceived his populism as something they could ride and then discard. he's the means to an end. thats why supposedly christian people support an objectively unchristian man like trump. but now things have gotten so serious that there's no backing off. if trump and the right don't fuck the system to maintain indefinite power, they're going to be subject of some Nuremberg-like trials when the adults finally take back over. they've decided they'd rather rule over the ashes than co-exist with anyone else.

No one is claiming they spontaneously generated like flies. They were always there and always held those beliefs, they just had to hide them below the surface in polite company.

Trump gave them permission to speak their minds. They were always there they were simply exhibiting a modicum of restraint.

Edit: The roots of this country are Calvinist in nature and I don’t think progressives have the stones or the fortitude to rip them shits out of the ground.

I thought it was based on Hobbes

--------------------
“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

You would go to jail if observing Biblical mores.

Yet, usually want to feel virtuous.

So, there is the outward trappings of a church, in which T's spiritual mentor wears yoga pants, post-menopause.

Trump’s faith adviser selling seven Easter blessings for $1,000 gift

Are these people even right of center? It seems like the same basic routine, so far. (How much to cover what I don't want to see.)
