I think he’s exactly as we imagine him in private. A gross greasy clammy con man.

It's his public person that's greasy. He wishes he was greasy.

Trump wishes he was perceived the same way. So he’s always quiet when he’s around him because he’s trying to learn how to mimic him. Luckily he has a learning disorder. So we don’t have to worry about that anytime soon.

I wonder if European liberals in the 30s passed the time by saying shit like “Hitler is a loser lmao he wishes he was half the man Churchill is” and making memes about him flunking art school.

This is why they’re all rock hard over Cory Booker talking to himself at a podium before confirming a Trump nominee and giving more weapons to Israel.

Who needs action when you’ve got talk? Just dangle some keys in front of my face and I’m good.

Can you give an example of a Trump nominee booker voted to confirm and the reason you believe he should have voted not to confirm?

I mean, the Dems unanimously approved Rubio, but I’m referring to the nominee that was confirmed the next day.

Booker voted for 4 of Trump’s cabinet nominees.

That filibuster sure was cool though. I loved the part where he spoke about how Democrats need to stand up, be bold, and take a stand against authoritarianism right before he sent more weapons to genocidal client state that funds his campaigns.

He must have forgot about channeling MLK and getting in “good trouble” when he was doing photo ops with internationally wanted war criminal Yoav Gallant a couple months ago.

Any reason you think he shouldn't have voted for those 4?

Because you can’t abet fascism and then pretend you’re putting your body on the line to stop it.

It’s Dem leadership massively expanding domestic surveillance and policing during the Obama years and then doing this shit:

Sure, this is nothing new. The Dems say they’re really actually gonna finally do something this time, and then don’t.

But why does this bait and switch work? Because the voter base is full of people like Genesis Corrupted who believe the main issue with Trump is that he doesn’t do the performative politician routine the correct way. Politics is a movie for them. The Big Bad telegraphs how evil he is by mocking reporters and displaying his insecurities, and then he’s defeated when Good Guy lays out the hypocrisy in a scathing speech.

I’m not going to waste my time deconstructing the banal evils of Trump’s political appointees because it isn’t going to change your mind either way.

Suffice to say that, yes, if Booker and the Dems want to derail the fascism train they can stop laying the tracks and shoveling coal into the furnace. But the obvious conclusion here is that they don’t really give a shit, Booker did a media op because 1) their constituents are pissed about Schumer’s apathy and they aren’t going to completely cede the moment to Bernie, and 2) it’s a convenient launch point for his inevitable 2028 presidential campaign.

No he doesn't care Ecstatic because he is insider trading. He calls the shots so he knows which way the markets are gonna go, he can always get in the perfect positions. He will always come out ahead no matter what, and the direction of the markets does not matter as much as volume + volatility, because that's how you make money on the markets.

:justastonishing:

The Democrats are the gutless slime that gave us two Trump presidencies. Many of them wanted this as much as any maga douchebag.

Omg democrats didn’t vote in the greasy con man. Stop trying to blame Democrats for the Republicans own mess.
Republicans got shit all over themselves. They deserve the responsibility.
Democrats didn’t do a good job of running against them that does not mean they get to take responsibility for it.

It’s a two party system. So it seems ridiculous to blame the other party for what the stupid one in charge is doing.

That’s a lot of unhelpful escapism.
Sounds a lot like what the Maga base is doing right now by still trying to blame Democrats for what Donald Trump is doing to the economy.

Delusional nonsense.
