That's the reason you can hate that reason but that is the reason why.  Taking care of the elderly is stable income for big businesses.  They provide jobs for 13.6 of Healthcare workers, you would deny them job security.

I think those reasons are pathological.  I'm a human being.  For me, the only consideration is the relief of human suffering. 

Sadly... I had to watch my father slowly die of prostate and bone cancer... over nearly a year. Because a stroke made him incapable of clearly stating his wish to relieve his suffering in death.   

Human suffering is not a valid make work project, nor is it a suffering humans job to continue such suffering for some potential scientific progress.

To continue this conversation would probably make me hate your guys forever.  So, lets not.
