so when does this start happening to natural born citizens here? because if he's doing this to people from other countries, what makes you think he wouldn't try to do it to a citizen born here? we're real close to losing freedom of speech it seems to me... just because someone doesn't agree with trump and his policies isn't a reason for denial of entry, neither was the name of the e-sports team though🤷‍♂️

Does anyone actually know who was sent down to the El Salvador prison? They didn't have due process, so we don't know their citizen status or criminal records. It's all based on a 'trust me bro' from a very untrustworthy government.

Well, has it always been US policy to deny entry based on political criticism found on your phone?

I know US immigration can be picky. For the last 25 years it has been much easier to get into Russia, for instance.

Yeah, US customs can refuse anyone for any reason - even if you've already been approved for a visa beforehand. This isn't a new policy, and pretty much every country has a similar policy. The bigger issue, imo, is how you're treated if you get pulled into immigration detention.

That being said, I don't think your reporting on 'denied over moist' is necessarily correct:

They disbanded their team, changed the name and due to the disbanding he couldn't be on the team and they got in. He's suing though the government is not financially liable by law so the law suit is more to make a point and prove he should have been allowed in with the team with the name moist E sports.

They applied for different visas and no not all of them made it moist critical himself was left to watch in Australia or something like that i watched these videos a long time ago.

Back to the scientist, he sure could make us look bad if he released his messages that caused him to be denied entry and make him self look good. I wonder why he hasn't. Geeee I wonder why he hasn't done that yet. Maybe it's because he was in the wrong and embarrassed.

The messages were on his phone. Which means before he was allowed entry into the country they took his phone from him and searched through all of it.
Would you be allowed entry into the country if the government searched through your phone before you were allowed to step foot on American soil?

He might not have access to them anymore, because his professional and personal equipment was confiscated before he was turned around.

Even so, authorities told him they had found messages "that express hatred towards Trump and can be qualified as terrorism." That's some pretty serious wording. I can't think of a single text message that could fit this standard. Privately expressed hatred of Trump is not terrorism - and any attempts to define it as such should be seen as a significant risk to freedom of expression within the USA too.

To put it in terms you'll understand, imagine if Moist was refused entry because his name gave people the ick and could be qualified as terrorism.
