who cares.  if he wants to stop the blowback on tesla he can resign from doge and from his role at tesla.

Good point.  But if it’s going to happen anyways, then at least Tesla owners could donate their cars to the Ukrainian government. Whereupon receiving said vehicles, they’d have a system set up to launch the fuckers right at the Russian invaders.

Batteries removed beforehand, of course.

Though I’d prefer our elected reps just call Eløn up on the phone and setup a dog and pony show for the public to help them get a grip.

People have no idea what’s going on, that’s the problem.

It’s like Covid all over again.

anyone that takes democracy and human rights very serious would have a multipage list of things to worry about in the USA before they'd get to burning teslas hurting the environment.

I don't think burning your own car is civil disobedience unless it's illegal to burn your own car. I know if the refrigerant is released in the process the EPA can fine you 44,000 dollars.

Let me point something out CO2 on the GWP scale is 1. 1 being the lowest. If something is rated as 2 then it's 2x as bad as CO2. The refrigerant in a teslas GWP is about 1300. That's 1300 times higher of a global warming potential as CO2. CO2 out of all the gasses that can cause global warming has the lowest GWP which is why it's used at the base of the scale.

Drill baby drill.

An issue with the Tesla thing is that people are trying to fight against an idea. One which became associated with the far-right authoritarian cult of personality that is MAGA. The head of which regularly employs moves that eschew the balance of power in favor of those from the playbook of world renowned dictators, and who now sits as our president, again.

Makes sense that people are upset and lashing out, regardless of my opinion on their strategy (if you can even call it that).  But fighting an idea is useless because it’s a matter of mind, as in it’s not tangible.  Fists can’t connect.
