You just disappeared out if nowhere and people feared you might be in trouble, in one way or another. Well you are, but it's not the 'all hands on deck, shit is going down' trouble we feared I guess. Which is, in a sense, a relief. I hope you feel better soon.

I finally managed to get some LAGM work done - spwaned 2qts of Okra/Nats a 12qt boot box on Friday, looking good so far. And I'm still trying to get my outdoor GT culture cleaned up.

anyways, it's not quite T2 time yet (I think), but I thought I'd share a small update on the T1s

The March 3rd Update:

Plate 1 has developed several colonies. Some of this might be due to my awkward smearing of the wedge as I placed it on the plate. (you can even see slight cuts into the agar from that hah)




Plate 2 is moving along as well, though it's a lil' uneven.




Also, glad to have you back astra!

Can someone confirm that I just ended up breeding another batch of mold or is this just scarring from drying out/ not enough oxygen?

Cube shoeboxes are knotting.



And cased spelt throwing the first pin. If this were a 'serious' cube grow this cased jar would have provided the clones for round two, while the shoeboxes would satisfy my lust for fresh mushrooms.

Time to pasteurize some moose dung! (for the stropharia alcis)

So, so easy to prep. 
Step 1: fill jars to the rim with winter-phase nuggets (the round ones - which are different from spring/summer phase dropping- although those are awesome too, but aren't as easy to prep...).
Step 2: fill jars with water to rim.  Unless they're already super-saturated,  they'll effervesce as they take on water/release trapped air.  It's quite fancy.
Stop 3: stove-top pasteurize in water bath 1hr. 
Step 4: drain water,  and they'll be at perfect field capacity.  Empty into tub and break up/level as you would any bulk.  Perfect every time 👌

Thanks! Late to the show but figured I’d hop in this thread. I bought a AIO bag before I came here and learned that’s not good practice, so before injected it I bought some agar to drop a few drops on it just in case, don’t wanna lose the spores that came with it, so figured I’d just do agar plate to save some for a real tub grow :

Yep, good call. Agar is a great tool for germination and a good way to learn. You'll have a much higher chance of success with the aio bag once you have a nice clean sample to inoculate it with.

Pan Cyan TTBVI in the mini rounds in the small JCM were cased on the morning of 3/1.



If my larger grows are going to do anything, I’d put them at least 5 days behind these guys. But this gives me something to watch while I wait. :grin:
