I have some mixed hardwood shreds and sawdust from my chainsaw. I'm gonna mess around with that India woodlover and some oysters.

Made some more cakes to inoculate with the last of my pesh LI.

Poured more petris

Spawned 3 qts of Pesh to 3 shoeboxes of pasteurized straw, 1:1 ratio

Malabar. Haven't had a setup in a while but needed something to fruit in so I found one of my first ever totes I used in 2013. It's been tough doing mycology with 2 temporary house chickens 😆

Spawned a bucket of blue oysters as well as 2 buckets of chestnut mushrooms. I used a mix of pasteurized straw and oak pellets

Make an effort to check your jars after PC... before you shake, etc. Just check the jar it's self not just looking at the grain.


Was In the middle of a late night SAB sesh.
Shook jar to evenly distribute right before inserting into SAB. And poof on the 4-5 shake the fucking bottom blew out, grain everywhere 😒!

That abruptly ended the lab session.

Had no intent on mycology activities but I woke up cold. My house was 45° and just fought with frozen wood for two hours with -8° temps. So I made coffee and agar dishes :tongue:

Just found this thread... I love getting on with my projects late at night!

Introvert? Check. Night owl? Check.
 
I Ritualistically transform the kitchen, shower, then I seal myself away in the calm, quiet bubble.

The room feels different, like the transformation the lounge makes at Christmas... It's the same room it always is, it's just a version that exists in another dimension.

When thr day is done and there is nothing that I need to attend to, I can take my time and mind potter. I am usually a little stoned.

The only disturbance I get is from my first glance of the clock, which oddly, always seems to read 2.30am. I have to force myself to go to bed so I can get up to do a days work. 

I'll post some pics next time I visit the Zone...

Redoing all my lids while doing grain prep. This time with tyvek from coveralls and not from envelopes. Also siliconing to the top of the lid instead of the bottom to see if that will account for the high occurrence of contaminated jars I am getting.
