Am I still at the litfa phase? * 1
    #28751562 -

Posted a pic about a week ago and was told it looks good, so I’ve been leaving it alone.

This was Tuesday

And now today

Still assuming litfa, but also wondering cuz it doesn’t seem to have changed much

Yes. Don’t touch anything. Looks like it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to be doing. Good looking tubs! You will be seeing pins very soon.

It's preparing to shoot those fruits up. Look at all those primordials getting ready. Give it time

Ton more knots/primordia in the second pic as opposed to the first. There like kids. You spend so much time with them you don’t realize how much they’ve grown. Unlike aunt Becky that hasn’t seen them for 6 months.

no u shouldn't just leave it alone when its fully colonized i would take the lid and bounce it so the moister on the lid rains back on the sub and it exchanges the enviorment so it can reset the enviorment and promote evaporation off the sub instead of just sitting in hot humid air  and i would drill 2 inch holes right at the sub so fresh air can be sucked in as heat and moister rise filling the tub  mixes with the hot humid air

He’s fucking with you. Once you’ve been around for a while you will find that comment hilarious. But in all seriousness if you do have “rain drops” on the lid gently remove it and shake them off. You don’t want them dripping down onto your sub.

How do you know his climate isn’t better for ez dial at the moment? His conditions are good and he’s about to get fruits, no need to confuse the dude on his first grow

I use countless hole configurations but it took some time figure what worked well for the variety and the range of seasonal conditions experienced where I am, monos are fucking great but only for my summer humidity here otherwise cooler or dryer conditions an ez dial is preferable, I get informing people to other options but telling him to drill larger holes in a current grow that’s working is screwy dude.

Not attacking man, questioning why you’d suggest someone fuck with a grow that’s clearly working is all, not to mention I’ve never had positive results from water dripping from the lid of a tub, most people haven’t.

Maybe start another thread to have an open discussion about the pros and cons of whatever it is you think you’re being attacked for instead of dumping on a noobs post.

In theory it should be fine except I personally get bacterial blotch on my fruits where the water drips and in tubs where I’ve caught water run off late I’ve gotten contamination at those points, I’m guessing from fruits sitting in a puddle of water, rotting, then that rot spreading and evolving into contam.

His tub is fruiting fine.

Like I said, appreciate the input, almost everyone here knows more than me, and I’m aware there is more than 1 way to do this.

The way I have done it is from the information on the hhg, so departing from that is not my intention.  I’m sure your way works too. Maybe once I get a couple successful grows under me I will try other ways and see what works best for me.

I don't think he's trolling, I think he's serious, and seriously just polluting this thread with crappy advice. But that's the nature of forums and that's ok I suppose. I'm surprised that he's still acting like a bloviating teenager, he's been a member here longer than me and that's saying something. I really wish I was around to know the whole story here, researching and reading so many posts here feel like there a kenobi/skywalker  story behind people’s relationships.  Is there like a hitchhiker’s guide to who’s who and who hurt who on these forums. I really think it would be interesting. I bet you could get Netflix to sign off on a season or two. I have so many questions and doubt I’ll ever know the answers.

But the shroom part, seems pretty cut and dry. Follow the trusted cultivators advice and you should get shrooms, they all differ a little, but essentially the same.  The hardest part is correlation between what I seen on a 4 inch screen to what I see in front of me. But I’ll figure that out in time.

But will I ever know the story of beef and bod, or smelly hobbits heroic dose? I don’t know but it is very intriguing to me.

Ha! Nah, you’re reading way more into it than there is, half the time you butt heads with someone you’ll forget who it was and be chatting like bff’s a few months later, not to say there aren’t people with beef but there’s too many to keep track of and it’s not worth holding onto bs.
There’s definitely a core group that practically live here though and you’ll get to know them (:

I don’t have a problem riding it out, not in any rush, but I thought it would have produced by now. That’s all. Waiting is not a problem for me, just don’t want to waste time when there’s no hope. I eventually learned that from the first marriage.

Can you turn on the flash and get a pic from closer to sub level so we can see what the moisture levels look like on the surface?  It *might* be a hair on the dry side but better pics would help determine that.

It looks like knots are forming, so try to LITFA as much as possible.

I've got some varieties that will have the first flush harvested and dried in 10 days and some that take 3+ weeks to start showing pins.  Don't worry about how long it takes as long as the spawn was clean and the surface conditions are good they will fruit.

Sure,

[url=https://files.shroomery.org/files/24-20/606912001-IMG_7426.jpg][/url

So what I’ve noticed is one of those blobs has brown on it, which I hear is metabolites from lack of fae. I did add 2 new holes about a week ago for this reason. I also am starting to see a greenish hue in one of the blobs, which just showed up recently, and not surprised that eventually a contamination would come in since it’s been in this tub almost 2 months now.

I did some light misting of the sub when the beads dried up, maybe once or twice a week. There’s still humidity clinging to the walls of  the tub. I dunno.

Well, “almost” 2 months lol.

4-6 went to bulk, first pic in the thread is from 5-7 I believe, which most people said litfa, which I assumed was right, that’s what I initially thought but I don’t trust myself.

Golden teacher Lc to agar, couple transfers to clean it up, agar to oat, then 1-4 spawn to sub, sub is just coir. Top layer of coir.

Every step along the way has taken longer than I expected, which I attributed to being in Colorado during the winter, but I don’t know.

I’ve had a couple failures that I assume I know what the cause was, i.e started with aio bag before I found the shroomery lc straight in *obvi fail , bought grain bag before I had pc *obvi fail. Clean spawn, coir and unmodded tub *fail.

This one I felt good about, clean spawn, pasty’s tub. Beefy ratio.

I don’t want to blame genetics, but I did order a different strain from a different vendor and everything about it has been going smoother/faster so that’s also a possibility. I guess I’ll know soon enough, I got 2 more golden teacher tubs running, and almost ready to make 2 more tubs of yeti.

Or, possibly im really bad at this.

Cold temps could definitely be an issue - anything below 60f slows down alot.  If thats the case, just be patient.

It never got that low in the room I’m growing, lowest it’d get was 68, but I assumed that’s why it was slow.

I got all the patience in the world, I just don’t want to continue the grow if it’s a waste of time. Honestly I don’t really even care if it’s a waste of time if I learn from it. I’ve never even tried mushrooms, I don’t care how long it takes lol.

Substrate is coir to field capacity. 1-4 ratio beefy tub style

Yes I noticed those sections, just started given the brown look a week or 2 ago, when I started thinking it needed more fae

without seeing your lc, colonized grain, plates etc, its impossible to rule out where contams might be coming from. if it was related to surface conditions, which i doubt, u would still be fruiting something by now, despite the 1:4 ratio. skinny deformed fruits perhaps but fruits nonetheless.

i asked about substrate bc i had been getting contams and poor fruiting tubs until i dialed back my water content big time.  for reference im currently using 650g coir, 200g verm and 3200g water. ive used even less water with success but had to mist it like a biznatch.

havnt had trich or weird splotchy bacterial subs like yours since...

not saying this is ur problem but, an easy thing to try so u dont pull ur hair out like i did for months, tossing tub after tub like a big dum dum

I did not take pictures of the spawn for these ones, I have posted pics of other spawn in the past though, which people have said were questionable, learned from those and got better. And my first attempt did get trich, but I assume that was because I had my coir to wet and was running an unmodded tub. But the spawn I used for this tub was clean. Clean enough that I didn’t think to take a picture

Specifically on the coir ratio to water, it was 800g coir and 3200 g water bucket tech, when I mixed it the next day it was still a little dry so I added a couple splashes til it barely dripped when I squeezed it.

I have some plates of the culture that was used growing now on agar, I could post a couple of those pics if you’d like.
