for sure I will be the first one to admit that I've lost my patience in the past.  I've had to take breaks and even ban myself.

i too, was emulating my mentors to some extent. I came from an era where you just flat out didn't ask questions.

I still try not to spoon feed information but I'm a lot nicer about it

Must have been truly bleak back in the day. I used to read the forums on and off over the decades and really can't recall this crazy venomous side everyone is speaking of. Guess I should be glad I newbed in during the time I did too, I suppose.

Honestly, that could just be all that I remember about it, but if that's all I remember about it, then it's safe to say it had a pretty significant role in the whole experience.

Without fail, if I end up arguing long enough with a sub 20 post noobie about basics they will invoke RR.

I feel like the front page of the forums should have a large warning that much has progressed in the past ten-five years and old information is often not accurate.

Mostly I'm just tired of having the same argument with the same photocopy of a jumped up lil shit day in and out.  Pretty burnt out atm.

This right here is what I see with people who skip the pleasantries and shut shit down. It frustrates me just to watch the same bullshit come through, and I've only been here 6mo or so. 🤣 I couldn't imagine having to politely tell some argumentative new member that they're wrong for the 5th time in a month. No way...

People talk about Bodi like he’s a ghost. I’ve seen him post recently. They are somewhere, maybe even here.

Not sure how long it's been implemented, but all old threads do

Nobody is being nominated for sainthood anytime soon, brotha. From what I can tell, you're leading the way by good example. I can dig it.

What’s contamination? What is that?

The trichoderma I grow is grown on purpose because I love it.

We dont use harsh language like "contamination" around here. They're now called "unintended companions".

i'm aware he's around. i'm not really trying to call him out or anything like that. I think he was also just trying to emulate his mentor.

All I'm really saying is I think we can do better.  To a huge extent I think we are doing a lot better. Honestly I haven't seen anything remotely close to bullying in quite a while I guess.

if it's already in a coffin, I'd like to go ahead and pound some nails in it. Starting with the search function.  I use it all the time but really specifically.  It's usually to look up a post I already know exists by using certain keywords or whatever.

Look it's not a fucking ai optimized search engine designed to fetch relevant results.  You have to have a pretty good foundation of knowledge to decide what's relevant or not.  Like searching for books at a library.  Neither the computer nor the librarian can really tell you if that book is relevant, or even obsolete. I mean let's be honest most of the books out there about mushroom cultivation are full of frankly really fucking bad information.

We have to quit blaming people for not knowing the difference. shit.  i recently started looking into growing cordyceps and immediately, that familiar wave of insecurity washed over me as I started looking up pages and pages.

Some people were saying it really wasn't worthwhile. Then it looked like some people were having pretty good success.

I finally said fuck it I'm just going to ask. lo and behold, ol roscoe and some other familiar faces showed up and held my hand!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, take it easy there.

Next you'll be saying that a bunch of stuff in "Food of The Gods" is just made-up flights of fancy.

If anyone is nostalgic for the old times the last time I was on the Shroomery discord it was still pretty damn spicey.

Edit: I am not nostalgic at all.

Are you sure?

I heard he went and surfed the biggest wave ever during a typhoon in Australia, and was never seen again.

I mean, theres the occasional thugnar. That shit should be dealt with swifter, in my opinion.  The endless pages of trolling and dragging aren't really a good look for us.  Guys like that should just be banned quickly or at least warned.

Has anyone ever felt high off of tea fumes? I made tea from 3 ounces for brownies and my wife was giddy AF after. She kept on laughing uncontrollably afterwards for no reason. She did have a pot brownie, but had eaten them before and never acted like that. She swears it was the tea fumes
