I'm not diagnosed, but I work a job with minimal human interaction, have food texture issues, hyperfocus on a very limited set of hobbies, and prefer to trip alone....does that count?

Ive been doing 4.4, but I did 4 on this last round of boxes and it seems to be colonizing faster. I cant say whether that is why, of course.

Related confession: I did 4.4 on 3 boxes at the beginning of the month, then remembered the shoebox write up suggests misting the top layer pretty well, so I did. All 3 boxes stalled as soon as the myc peeked through the top layer. I then remembered the tek also called for hydrating at 4ml, not 4.4. Ive never had this happen and sure as shit not all 3 boxes. I guess maybe I shouldn't grab a snippet out of my brain at the last minute. 🀣 They're still sitting on the shelf with some sliver of hope that they'll take off if they dried out a bit. I dont expect it, but they dont look contaminated and I dont need the space yet so whatever.

My issues seem to be sound and light. That could also have been caused from being blown up once but that’s debatable. Definitely hyper focused on a few things. Then I master them and lose interest.

I've been playing with psychedelics for 20yrs and haven't the sack to do it alone. I want to and I'm going to, but I have to set up someone willing to be on call for interaction if I need it. I've wandered away from the group and had auditories get under my skin and then boogied my ass back to the group, but I'm pretty sure that was always acid doing that shit. I wager theres a ton of potential with tripping alone and I want to just go for it damn it!

I confess, I absolutely prefer to trip alone
It might be a different situation if circumstances were different. But in my circle, I'm typically the provider. Which turns into a sense of caretaker and I have enough on my plate keeping myself in line on the come up...I really don't like the extra anxiety of having others around especially if they start to look to me for comfort lol

I feel like a fucking freak the 1st 40 mins, much more comfortable by myself

OK I confess. I confess that I spoiled my wife in such a way that she's really blasΓ© about pretty much every hallucinogen.

She has been firmly in the anti-drugs camp for well, most of her life. Didn't ever drink a cup of coffee or smoke a cigarette. Drinks very occasionally. She's had several partners that were clearly from the other side, strengthening her anti-drug stance. When we got together, I mentioned that tripping is really important to me, and something I am not prepared to give up. I also explained how I never combine drugs with my time with the kids (have them half of the time), with work, or whatever. I consider myself a fairly responsible user. It was important for me to stress the difference between just binging every weekend, and taking the occasional high-dose trip.

She didn't have any frame of reference regarding these substances, so I walked her through the collection and explained this and that. A few weeks (and several in-depth conversations) later she announced that she wanted to try it out for herself. I thought we'd start with a low dose of mushrooms, or maybe morning glories. But she wanted to try cactus (I am a living ad for Trichocereus sp., so uh). We discussed it, at length, and she was adamant about it: it had to be cactus.

Fast forward to a few months later, we went to a psytrance festival and I had packed an ethanol extract of 500 grams of my personal favorite (an intensely potent spiny pachanoi), combined with 700 grams of mediocre peruvianus. I dissolved the extract to be able to split it properly and not rely on some wild eyeballing. Stupid of course, because we had to drink it instead of just swallowing that little ball of tar. She was instantly nauseous. I took her to our tent and we layed down and had great fun while the nausea slowly faded. Only 40 mins in she says: "I feel it. I'm starting to see things too". I tried explaining that cactus takes waaaay longer, but failed, as I was seeing faint patterns myself.

So we got out of the tent and immediately ran into an old friend of hers. This friend points us to a camp like 100 meters away, where we met another friend of hers. This girl was genuinely shocked to see her tripping. Then she installed her on a chair and started painting her face. Meanwhile I lay in the grass and realized this wasn't going to be the mid-level trip that I had envisioned. My wife was chatting away with her friend, looking like a giant pretty butterfly, while I was forcefed some important lessons by the cactus. (There is nothing like a cactus lesson. It may be rough or confronting, but it's always warm and full of genuine love. Like a true friend confronting you with something they must confront you with, because they truly love you and wish the best for you).

When she was all painted and I had ripped two rolling papers trying to produce a joint, we went to the festival grounds. I was tripping pretty hard, but my wife was really adrift from her moorings. She saw footsteps coming into being out of nowhere, walking away from her and returning. There was a lake, and she could change the direction the waves were rolling. Standing there, radiating, exclaiming "I can send the waves wherever I want with my mind, look!" She went through literally every trip mindfuck in like an hour. "Look at your hands! Jesus! Are these my hands?" "There's patterns in the air, look, look! Look at all the colors!" And so on and on. It was really special to be a part of.

Half of our friends were at the festival, so we kept running into people who were flabbergasted seeing her in this state. And every time the same thing happened: she'd hug them and exclaim, very loudly, "I get you now! I finally get it! I am a fucking hippie too!" One of our friends was actually very displeased at being called a hippie, but there was nothing he could do about it, she just kept jumping around yelling about hippies.

We danced, and marvelled at great psychedelic art, and just bumped into people that we'd hug and blabber to. All of a sudden she says: "I'm hungry. I really feel like eating a burrito". I hesitated, remembering her stomach discomfort. Plus I never ate while tripping hard, it just didn't seem appropriate somehow. But she was adamant. So we got ourselves some burritos, while everybody who was queuing up in front of the burrito stand joked with her and listened to her half-crazy stories. That burrito , seriously, was among the best things I've eaten in my life. We couldn't for the life of us make out what was in there, because it all squirmed and waved and warped, but it was so good. Went back three times to ask if it was indeed a vegan burrito (we're both vegan). The guy working at that stand laughed his ass off when we described what we thought was in there ("Feta cheese! Golden specks! Cannelloni!). It was truly an exquisite meal.

It was a great day. Dancing, cloud-watching, roaming around in this beautifully decorated forest... We plateaued for about 10 hours and after that slowly slided back into normal existence. Well, 15.000 people at a festival normal. I digress. Fond memories.

Anyway, that was her first trip. After that, everything was 'not as good as cactus'. First time acid, 180 mics, booooring, not as good as cactus. First time cubes, four grams, not as good as cactus. Galindoi, two grams, it was alright, it was funky, but just not as good as cactus. She's eaten cyans until her eyes almost popped out, I mean like 3, 4 grams, talking to the floor, singing insane versions of children's songs, but when she got back, nah, it didn't quite do the thing cactus does. 2C-B, same stomach discomfort, visually pleasing, yes, but...

Well you get my point. I've created a monster. To this day I don't know if that was a waste, or just a really good start.

I have found that tripping alone is far more therapeutic for me. A few years back after my grandma had passed - she had been sick for a long time, so it wasn't a big surprise. After all the funeral stuff was over, I went back home and ate 5 gel tabs of LSD. I put on some Ravi Shankar, sat on my rug, and allowed the experience to heal my mind. It worked well, I was able to truly let go of my conscious mind for a few hours, and I felt better about life afterwards.

I’m 100% on team trip alone! Honestly my entire life there were only a few people I could ever trip with and not feel like they couldn’t handle their shit or were ruining my trip. I would just end up frustrated.

Give me a fire out back in my chimanea and some good tunes and I’m set.

Same with K. There’s like two people I can do that with.

Dude I did the same thing in 00’ when my grandmother passed away. Literally right after the funeral. I went and sat by a pond surrounded by weeping willows for 6 hours. Except I had liquid dropped on sugar cubes! Definitely worked some shit out.

I'm not all spiritual about it. I mostly just lay in bed with some cartoons and munchies. I enjoy a solid giggle trip. My wife is usually downstairs watching TV, and she checks on me from time to time, so I have help if I need it.

Once I've peaked, I'll usually switch to video games.

I don't really have bad trips anymore.

My personal theory is bad trips come from lies that you tell yourself. The psychedelics break down your ability to lie about the things in your life that you ignore. If you fight them, then you have a bad time. If you accept what they're trying to tell you then you end up with some profound wisdom.

I haven't experienced things that aren't there though. Just colours and an acceptance of the way things are, not how I want them to be.

I just really enjoy the child-like wonder mushrooms give me. That's the high that I'm constantly chasing.

Unfortunately, my last few trips haven't been able to take me there. Last one I've had was 5g of dry Azure. I played Sea of Thieves with my friends, and promoted myself to the senior officer first class in charge of the colour blue.

That's part of the reason I'm expanding into different varieties and strains. I'm chasing a feeling, and I'll know it when I find it. Once I have it consistently, that's all I plan to grow.

I've had bad trips with people, never had a bad trip alone. I feed off of the energy brought by others and my surroundings. I personally get my set and setting nice (I could not imagine tripping in town or in a place where authorities could show up) and just trip, I enjoy being alone as is, so tripping alone feels natural. I can focus on what I need to learn during the trip. If you're worried about it have someone you can call who can ground you back to reality.

10/10 get yourself feeling good and safe; and trip by yourself.

cant remember the last time i tripped with anyone else cam. in my experience, the fist hour is always kindof hell.  the more hellish, the better the outcome.

I confess I haven't grown mushrooms for any kind of enjoyment for over 7 years, maybe more.

Having taken over a year off and watching all these exotic grows has really made me want to grow mushrooms for the love of watching them grow, not having to worry about the yields or producing crops for sale.

Quite exciting to grow mush and not stress about the results.

I've done that being overly lazy but content for time spent. Also I have outdoor herb to do same and travel more n slave to plants so much less.
Im ramping up fun exotics trying bucket list type shit tho now it's gotten crazy with types available nowadays

I want to, but it’s in the basement and not set up and I have to bring it up 2 flights of stairs and I’m a bit crippled for that to sound exciting, it’s not super heavy maybe 60-75 pounds it’s just big and awkward and I’m afraid to hurt my back.

Gotta bribe a buddy to come help me carry it up one of these days
