Took transfers from each of the T1 plates, one to Charcoal agar and one to BRF agar each.

From each of the T1 plates I cut wedges and inoculated 2 jars of rye each.
From BRF pucks I inoculated with agar on 1-6, I scraped some of the growing mycelium up and dropped it into a jar. Each puck got their own jar.





So today:
Plate 026 -> Transferred to 1x BRF plate, 1x Charcoal plate, and Inoculated 2x Rye Grain
Plate 028 -> Transferred to 1x BRF plate, 1x Charcoal plate, and Inoculated 2x Rye Grain
Puck 042 -> Inoculated 1x Rye Grain Jar
Puck 043 -> Inoculated 1x Rye Grain Jar


Today's update, I tried to make sure I got some of the agar in the grain close to the glass to be able to document it as it grows.

Well the goal is to get from spores to fruits any time after 1-1-2025 so you're free to do whatever varieties or species you want.

If you want to use it for LAGM just make sure it's spores to agar to fruits.

For posterity and the sake of seeing things through, please try your best to run the first ones you start with to completion, no harm in adding additionals IMHO.

I'm getting a gourmet print in the mail in the next few days that I plan on documenting here as well.

Big transfer day.

3rd Eye (from clones) … did 7 total, mostly T2, 2 were T3 … still on the scenic route to take these back to spores. The tub reboot gave me two tiny fruits and three aborts, seemed liked better off going back to a full tub to eventually get a better shot at swabs.

TW x APE (from LC) …. Got 5 transfers to T1 … will start narrowing down after T2 then try to fruit for spores (and trip…)

SNAPE (from LC) … got 2 T1 …. Same game plan. Have one more T0 to transfer from but needs a few more days.

Have 3 Fiji from spores in BRF puck and 3 Hillbilly from LC in the same … on D2, still no growth

Yesterday I made the worst transfer ever. Hadn't been at home for a couple of days and it was about time for a T1... So got home thoroughly baked and fumbled around in the SAB. I stabbed the plate like 10 times because I didn't hear the hiss on the first pass. Then crudely cut out some really heavy icosahedron and smacked it into a new plate. No pride. If this doesn't contam it's pure luck.

My first time growing with anything outside of P.Cubensis. It may seem like I went a little overboard with the germ plates but I was testing to see if different nute values affected germination. As you can see plates are color coded by % value of nutes:
  • Red = 4.0%
                  10g agar powder
                  20g LME
                  500ml water
                  10 drops red food coloring
  • Blue = 1.6%
                  10g agar powder
                  8g LME
                  500ml water
                  10 drops blue food coloring
  • Black = 1.0%
                    10g agar powder
                    5g LME
                    500ml water
                    10 drops black food coloring







Here is a sample of a few plates that were looking good to me.



Now I have no experience with this mycelium type. What I have gathered from the site here is I'm looking for fast and whispy.
What does everyone think about any of these plates?

I really dig the HGs all around. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the condensation leaves behind water spots on the lid, making it harder to see through. But that happens rarely, so I'm definitely team HG.

I must be really damn old and off the grid, didn't know they call screw on plates 'Holy Grail'.... wow :oldman:

Been using them forever, probably have around 150ish in stock, they make excellent print containers for some reason :heart::heart:

Looks like maybe the mystery SA pan plate was a mispour,  so maybe not as bad as they look initially.  Should be fine transferring away from that if you're quick.

Yeah the irregularity is in the agar. The myc itself looks fine to me in person. Only visible contam is the bacteria in some of the swab plates.
I also got a few moldy ones but those r gone
