But I might start up an investment firm and then I might want to buy up all that residential housing and step on you.

The supply doesnt meet demand, so there is a lot of price support built into the market. A lot of housing is being financed by the cheap mortgages of the last 15 years. People are not selling because they don’t want to give up those cheap loans and replace them with todays rates. There should be a law that mortgages can be transferred to another property

That's a really interesting idea. So, if you owe $100,000 on your house, with a low interest rate, you could buy a $200,000 house, and continue paying the same interest on the first $100k?

I wish they would make a law prohibiting investment firms from buying up residential housing.

Problem is what is counted as investment firms.  My parents own 5 houses to rent out, not gotten 1 buck in rent this year. The city they live in tells them to start a LLC to file lost income or criminal charges to ex tenants that destroy the property.

You think Blackrock or vanguard would have such issues.  No they have the money and influence to change the laws your talking about limiting them.  During covid if you evicted a tenant its a 5k fine unless you owned over 250 rental units. Then no fines what so ever.

No it means you can collateralize your mortgage with any suitable property, not just the original one. Normally when you sell your home and buy a new one, your first mortgage is repaid and you take out a new loan.

If a sex tape of Trump's goofy fat ass ever got out... I don't think it would benefit him :laugh2:

I also don't think being best buds with Diddy is a good look, right now..

Why being best buds with Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein didn't hurt Gavin Newsom. Hanging out with Harvey Weinstein in a parties Willie Brown and Kamala harris  doesn't hurt them , ditty won't hurt trump.

But a 3 day sex orgy on tape would prove trump is more then fit for any task.

They use sex tapes as blackmail, because it hurts people.

You could just establish, in your public career, early on, that you are an mra (men's right's activist) whose concept of reproductive rights involves sport sex with technically, biologically mature women, rather than favoring the vasectomy van at the DNC. :mypleasure:

He is not the sex object. If she has a goofy fat ass, then, be embarrassed.

Wow.. you have a really fucked up way of looking at women, and the world. Not everyone can be attractive, but if you're not attractive, and you're a public figure, it's wise not to have your ugly ass on film fucking. People will absolutely judge him for it lol!

Women aren't objects, bub.

That would be interesting. Most likely outcome is just massive subsidies to the banks in return for cheaper mortgages.

Everyone I know says they aren’t moving, but eventually folks will lose their jobs/savings/need a bigger place and that 6 figure equity will start looking real nice.

As for home prices in the future, appreciation will slow but there’s zero chance prices drop. Maybe whatever version of Kamala’s federal house building initiative that gets through Congress will increase the supply so much that prices stabilize for a couple years. I’m just hoping rates fall enough in the next few years that I don’t end up with a $6,000 mortgage payment when I decide to upgrade.

You know, men don't just objectify women.

Manhood is a grooming process that involves a ton of objectification.

Just listen to the rhetoric of the strong man types around here. They have a lot of notions what a "man" should be, and none of those notions involve recognizing men as individual people.

Society basically dresses men up as objects, the cis-masculine aesthetic is about having a lack of options. About being bottlenecked into objectification.

See how this guy

Loses his humanity, so that he can become this

See how these men are dressed up like weapons

It's because they have been weaponized. Their lack of individuality, and their degraded sense of empathy, has turned them into this

Objectification is essential to cis-masculinity because it's easier to control objects than people.

As a women you don't get to have an opinion on that about men. Only men get to decide what is and isn't objectifying us.

Who are you referring to?

I think society benefits from having strong male figures. I don't understand the desire to destroy masculinity. It has at least as much value as femininity, though some folks can't see that, because they are ignorant to what it actually takes to build the comfortable world that they live in, and protect it.

The one thing that I have learned in this life is that it truly does take all kinds, and it is not wise to hate, or disassociate from any demographic, reflexively, for the most part.

Wow... there is a lot here. Surely, I haven't spent nearly as much time as you have considering this subject, so you'll have to forgive me for being unfamiliar with gender-jargon, like co-constructionism.

I like this bit right here:

Calm_A_Llama_Down said:
Men are programmed so hard into needing to be a leader, they often don't care where they are leading people.

I have always been of the opinion that the person who is most interested in leading/managing things, is usually the last person who should be. I think that fits in with your sentiment here..

I am certain that you and I will probably never see eye to eye entirely on issues of sex and gender. Even if you do believe that gender roles are entirely a social construct... I don't see how that is necessarily a bad thing. Language is also a social construct.

As far as violence being unnecessary... I am one of the most vocally anti-war people on this sub, but at the end of the day, we live in the real world, and the real world has psycho religious zealots, and boogiemen of all kinds. That is not going to change, so there is a need for protectors.

99 times out of 100, I think war is not the answer, but sometimes, I do believew there is no way to avoid it.

I do imagine that this is one of those topics where you and I will eventually have to agree to disagree on some things. At the end of the day, what I think IS important, is being tolerant of people who are different than yourself, and understanding that people are allowed to have different opinions, without being your enemy. This is an idea that seems to be lost on people nowadays, particularly when talking politics.
