A voice vote is also known as a 'Harry Reid' vote.  that's where the vote is held aloud and if they are so close to sounding the same that you can't tell the difference the presiding member declares the vote was in his parties favor. :smirk: 

It's also a way to protect members outside the record.

In spite of your continued (and puzzling) efforts to deceive, any member of Congress can demand a full count if they disagree with the results of the voice vote.  :shrug:

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.
