Yeah as long as they're  in sealed container/bag . Might not hurt to put a desiccant in them

Ok thanks. Just found out they don't ship spores to California though πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ Or at least the websites I checked

Edit: I think I just have to look for more websites. Idk why they say they can't send spores to California. My family is from Oakland where shrooms is decriminalized and have dispensaries.

I live in thePhilippines and I will be getting sent a big box full of things from the US from my family soon. I want to put some spore prints/swabs in there for me. But the thing is they are sending it by boat which can take up to 2 months. Can they last that long in those conditions?

Strange, I heard about a cat they put in a box and wondered the same thing

Yeah check all the shroomery sponsors again. Some are UK based they don't. Look for one in the US.  I'm in cali had the same issues for a decade but one of our sponsors do. Just go through checkout and select California as the state if it accepts it they ship there. Alot of sites do don't give up.

I did try this, and the plates have what appears to be a bacterial β€œ halo”. More of a cloud really.
There is some very rhizo growth, growing upwards actually, as if trying to escape. Is it worth trying to transfer a piece of one of the fingers? I thank you for the guidance in this matter.😁

I can't really see the halo in those pics, but if you're sure it's bacterial you might want to try using the trench technique to isolate growth from bacteria.  Basically you just cut out a strip of agar ahead of the leading edge of growth then wait for the mycelium to grow over the gap and then take a new transfer from the 'clean' side of the trench.  Bacteria won't be able to jump the gap, but mycelium will be able to.

I recently did this on some MS growth with very noticable halos and it looks flawless after a single transfer.

Nice one! Another technique to add to the toolbox. The "trench technique".

QQ: I don't see a BRF puck offered as a suggestion. Worked well for me. Is that not the go-to solution nowadays?

FUZZY FEET QUESTION
Seems like a lot of co2 and not enough FAE, is it still safe to continue ?
Also, how to increase FAE without fear of contam ? Do i still keep the flipped lid or do i remove the lid completely ?
Or will just increasing the frequency of fanning the tub to 2-4 times a day help with FAE as i previously only fanned 1 time a day ?

Fanning shouldn't be required. If you need more FAE, just uncover (or partially uncover) the holes you already made in the tub. Looks like you have two layers of micropore over them - definitely remove one layer if so.

I'm on my third flush and I had an issue when I was removing my cake from the fridge where I was allwing it to chill and rehydrate. The cake split so I had to repair or attempt to repair it by wrapping it in plastic wrap which sucks, i shouldve used a ziplock.  I picked it super early cuz I wanted potency I'm really having some problems with a shotgun food and chamber I feel like it's just a bit much for several cakes and and a bulk cake I don't understand are they calling the spawn to bulk that we do are they calling that the casing?

Let me see if I understand this correctly in in our terms cake would mean brf or pia tek correct? Then what do we call our bulk to spawns I thought we called those cakes evidently we call them casings is this correct?

Is it unnecessary to pc the verm that your BRF cake fruits upon?

Please direct me to the link that does g2g with BRF to brf expansion.

Mush love.

Why would you wrap the cake, just leave it in 2 pieces. It's already split, it's not going to join together now.

You don't have to pick too early, let them grow and at least tear the veils. You're losing weight and it's arguable how much more potency you're getting. If the genetics are decent they'll blast you off even if you let them mature too much.

Shotgun chambers have fallen out of favor for cubensis, and they have to be filled with cakes so they don't lose moisture too quickly. Look into water tubs.

Casing is a thin top layer of substrate or other non-nutritious material that is usually added once the surface of your substrate is colonized.

You don't have to PC verm before using it. I'm not familiar with brf to brf expansion, doesn't sound like something that is widely used currently.

Yeppers. I've stopped using vac bags. I store in glass jars now. Mylar bags might be an option. But I haven't tested them.

Did you pack them with desiccant packs? I have a handful of vacuum packs I sealed over a year ago and seems fine, maybe it’s brand dependent but that’s odd to me that after a month they would be rehydrating.

Absolutely positive they were cracker dry+ when putting them in in the first place?

Same.  I have vac bags of mush well over two years old and they’re still cracker dry.  Don’t use cheap bags.  I use foodsaver brand and store mine in a deep freezer

A couple months would indicate they weren’t completely dry at sealing (imo as well)

I go 24 hours+ @ 160F and even tear all my fruit’s stems in half no matter big they are… the bigger stems get even a couple more tears

They were thoroughly dried and stored with desiccant packs.
The cheap bags were definitely crap. And I now suspect scamizon may have sent me knock-off food saver bags, they were even worse than the cheap ones πŸ˜‚. Put me off further testing when I got the "best" and they preformed worse. Good to know it's a valid option. For my low volume, a few big jars have been perfect. I only keep my current favorite harvest as intact fruits, everything else gets ground up for capsules or tossed in the compost pile.
