Okay pardner, woah now. Im happy to answer your questions but I'm thinking you might be confused. I think it was stipe saying this. Higher temps are considered to be favorable growing conditions for bacteria. I don't think we can point you to one specific scientific article demonstrating this, its more the collective 20 year growing experience of this community. If there is bacteria present in your jar, higher growing temps will exacerbate the issue. We've seen it happen over not hundreds but thousands of jars in our experience. The collective consensus and experience of this community is that lower 70's is the ideal range. Again, its based on time and volume.

Im not sure again where you would have seen me say that I don't cover my tubs. In the Hitchhikers guide, I posted the link to pasty's easy dialed monotub three times. It has a lid. Im not sure what you're saying here. The tub design regulates its own humidity. I've never made an argument that high humidity isn't ideal.

For sure I know about environmental controls. I've worked in horticulture and propagation for most of my life. I've engineered environmental controls for commercial scale horticulture and absolutely, i dream of someday building an environmental controlled cube for mushrooms. Spray insulated conex container with high pressure fogging system on a humidistat. Temp is easy to control with a thermostat and a cheap electric heat source.
That said, we have collectively found and observed that over-complicating small growing environments often leads to disaster. I have done it. I had an incubator for my jars using two massive tubs and fish tank heater. One of my earlier attempts at bulk growing involved an ultrasonic humidifier on a humidistat as well as cpu fans for fae. Commercial grade heat mats on aquastatic controllers. I tried to apply my experience as a commercial horticulturalist to small scale mycology, and the results were disastrous for various reasons.
Im not discouraging anyone from having fun or trying things, im simply trying to encourage people to walk the path of least resistance based on mine and the collective experience of this community.

Flowhoods are great! Im in the market for one myself. They just aren't neccesary at an early stage. They're expensive. I am sure your "fruiting tub" is also great. Im not familiar with it and never bemoaned either of these at any given point. I simply endorse the inexpensive and tried and true methods of this community. The SAB and ez dial mono, shoebox, unmodded mono are staples of successful growing. If you look in my gallery, you'll see that I have fruited in all sorts of things including fishbowls and commercial propagation trays.

Okay, I do remember saying this part. I can tell you seem offended by the remark so I'll start by apologizing if I've offended you. I do have a degree of respect for Stamets knowledge as a mycologist, but I do not and will not consider him an authority on growing Cubensis mushrooms. He simply doesn't have the experience.
I can't point you to a scientific paper that illustrates my opinion per se. You got me there I guess. What I can say is that I've been around this place for 19 years and have witnessed trends come and go. I've seen and personally implemented Stamets and Roger rabbit's techniques put into action and I have personally experienced the results. For sure, these techniques will always "work".
It depends on what your idea of 'success' is. A lot of the more experienced growers here I guess became dissatisfied with the mediocre level of success and at some point, strived for bigger and better. We live for the canopy. We are dissatisfied with anything but a monotub with mushrooms packed in like sardines. You won't get that using dating techniques.
